It wasn't just a one-time thing! Look what they're doing now with Kyoto. As a friend of mine said, the Kyoto "plan" has nothing to do with environmental concerns created by particulate polution or water contamination....it is essentially a patronage manifesto where select government patrons will feed at this trough of public money. The premise is the less greenhouse gas they emit the more they can feed...which in itself is a sardonic irony.
We see again the Lieberals asking for a blank check for 10 billion hard sought tax dollars with no detailed budget and no sufficient auditing or monitoring systems to give the public accountability or to even record value for dollar performance of the plan.
This is the sponsorship program cloaked in a green disguise and a larger potential for fraud.
Whenever you hear the criminal liberals talk about "sustainable development taxing" hide your assets...this is a nebulous concept that is lib-code for an unrestrained right to tax out of their jurisdiction.
The best policy is to tank Kyoto involvement out right and go to a comprehensive pollution control system (which the Lieberals have not offered) ....more will be accomplished at far less cost.

So according to some people I am selfish because:
a) I am disgusted by theft of public money
b) i believe that we should be able to keep more of our own money instead of it being wasted on theft and corruption
c) I call for the resignation of those responsible for criminal activity.
I get it now... in Canada its called selfishness. Anywhere else it's called common sense. |

Jayx, did anyone specifically say you were selfish? I know that I agreed with someone who stated that voting in one's own best interest rather then the countries best interest was selfish. I don't recall either of us saying that you were selfish or voting only based on your own interests. Clearly you're passionate about politics which is admirable (in fact I'm happy about it as relatively few of our generation give a damn... me being a polisci nerd I love political discussion) but don't take everything personally. I was not attacking you. |

| I will not vote... I do not agree with any of parties on many topics... and therefore I am completely ignorant when it comes to anything involving the government... I only found out what this whole scandal thing is about on friday |

And If I don't vote... no-one can blame me for electing a -headed leader who only increases the deficet, raises taxes, and pisses the entire country off, not to mention gets twisted into some kinda scandal... (and dont act like this is the first scandal... remember brian mulrooney?)
