Boxer engines sound the best too. A subaru EJ25 with a nice catback sounds very similar to an LS1 with open headers.

If ya want a car with balls then definitly get the STi (if you can find/get one)...A friend of mine has the Impreza wagon & owned a WRX before the wagon...Subarus are great cars but the gas mileage sux...

Yeah, their very modern 2.0L turbo boxer 4 gets worse average fuel economy than my 18 year old Mitsubishi 3.0L SOHC 8v V6, silly Subaru

I drive a cavalier, not by choice, and let me say, could be one of the worst cars ever built in the history of cars lol. I seriously would rather walk or take the bus sometimes. I'm just waiting for the day where i'll be driving, then BOOM! the engine with somehow explode and catch on fire lol

My buddy bought a used Z24 (not sure what year, but it's a quite recent model). Nothing but headaches. In the 2 years (maybe a bit less) that he's had the car, they had to re-build the engine, do a lot of suspension work, fix the brakes numerous times and quite a few other smaller problems. He is cursing at the car everyday.

I drive a '99 Corolla (bought brand new) and the only problem I encountered was a blown water pump last winter. They fixed it free of charge under warranty. The few times that I've driven a rental, usually a domestic car like a cavalier, I couldn't wait to get back behind the wheel of my own car.
