what would you say is a European "best buy" car/model? |
Any BMW 3-Series. Except the "xi" models, BMW's AWD system is an ancient relic and it sucks.
There is a reason 3-Series' are so popular. They are really incredible machines. Very civilized, but when you want them to go, they'll get up and boogie. I personally adore them.
However, if we're going for wretched excess and insanely ridiculous good looks, look no further than the new TVR Sagaris.

IMO, I would say that the E39 (previous 5 series) would be a 'best buy'. They are extremely reliable cars, and frankly, have that classic, luxury look over the current 5 series. I'm sure you can pick one up for a decent price too. |

price range?
although I'm loving the Subaru lineup (either a WRX or Legacy GT) I'm really looking at the Volvo S40 T5 AWD...nicely equipped for 42k CDN (retail).
2.5l 5 cyl. turbo...218hp @ 5000rpm and a nice, flat torque line with 236lbs/ft from 1500-4800rpm...AWD...6-speed...nice interior...etc. <7s 0-60 and very well equipped.
I need to take one for a spin sometime soon...anyone driven one? |

When I'm finished school, if I can find a 540i with the 6-spd manual trans, I shall purchase it immediately. 540i/6ms are very rare though, but oh so refined and brutish at the same time. |

And Vertigo...thanks a lot for that TVR...now I'm going to have nightmares. Batmobile--eat your heart out. |

I damn well hope not... (he's younger than me.. ;) )
I think he went auto because of the uber-traffic in LA and the fact he lives in the hills. |
