Halo, Jade Empire, Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive... what else u guys got thats exclusive to the XBOX? Not much I'm afraid
Even Nintendo's got better games :p
Not just about the system, its all about the games. |
I'm sorry but when I shell out a few hundred bucks I'd rather take the system that has a number of great games, some exclusive, some not, as well as being able to play any type of movie (vcd, svcd, divx, kvcd, dvd, xvid, etc.) play most emulators (nintendo, snes, sega genesis, game boy advance, etc.) swap out electronics for upgrade (ie. hard drive or dvdrom drive) as well as allow me to copy games and other stuff to the hard drive. No other gaming system has as many features or as big a modding fanbase as the XBOX and this is just microsofts first try at a gaming system, sony has already been around the bend once.
Before you even start, a mod chip simply unleashes what a system is capable of (since it makes no upgrades to the system hardware itself), which in ps2s case isn't much ;). |

are you daft?? cause you need to take a look at the developers that have signed on for the xbox 360 read the in news... I've said it before and I'll say it again, Microsoft learned from their mistakes with Xbox (the new developers that have signed on to produce exclusive content that didn't previously make xbox games proves this even further!! If you actually think developers are going to lose a year and half of revenue by waiting to develop for the ps3 you are retarded. All the new systems are going to be great and you know what you can have your "games" for ps2 and by the end of this year I'll have my games for xbox360! and I can safely say I wont be the only one!! Oh and sony may have to delay the ps3 even further due to the new deals being banged out with regards to blue ray and hd-dvd being combined, see what happens when a company banks on a new format ... Bottom line is video games are videogames for you to say one is better then another is fine but keep in mind thats your personal opinion! I could care less about your opinion cause it isn't open minded but I do care about the opinion of the developers the people that make these "games" you speak of and how they want to get their games out onto the xbox 360!
one question please list these games you speak of that are not attainable on any other system ... |
here's a list of developers that are working on xbox-exclusive games:
BioWare
Bizarre Creations
Bungie Studios
Epic Games
FASA Studio
Lionhead Studios
Rare
Yoshiki Okamoto's Game Republic
Hironobu Sakaguchi's Mistwalker
Tetsuya Mizuguchi's Q Entertainment

personally, i'm not impressed. but if anyone can steal sony's thunder, it's microsoft. i think that the upcoming console wars are gonna be so close it'll be insane. |

The PS3 will be vastly superior to Xbox 360 hardware wise.
the Xbox 360 will have a processor with three cores each running at 3.5 ghz
PS3 will have four cell processors each running at speeds faster then 4ghz, each processor having 9 cores
you buys need to do some research before you overhype a Microsoft product. |

Toshiba - "We are aware of the heat issues this causes! At 4 GHz we had to apply massive cooling in order to keep the system stable enough for benchmarking. Practically speaking, 3.8 and 4.0 GHz won't be doable without liquid cooling."
so sony's PS3 will be liquid cooled then? because if so that means the ps3 will be really expensive and if the system isn't liquid cooled then its just not plausable... Wow look someone did some research, maybe you should go by your own words and not overhype a product before doing YOUR research
In my opinion I'd rather have the fastest STABLE system running at 3.5ghz requiring standard fans and components keeping production cost lower which keeps the prices lower for us the consumers! Then rely on a system that is unstable even at 3.8ghz unless assisted with "massive" cooling systems, which would (if implemented) cost a lot more to produce and those costs will be pushed directly onto the consumer

Well I'm glad you know exactly what the average consumer wants.
I want my toaster to toast bread, my kettle to boil water, and my games console to play games. The people that will be most interested in the features you mentioned are the same people who already own PCs (and therefore can do all those things anyway). Sony currently have a massive fanbase with the PS2, and with backwards compatitbility over such a large catalogue of games, I can forsee a similarly large number of people buying their next-gen console. |

so if you could a have a toaster and kettle in one you wouldn't buy it? you would rather pay for two seperate devices instead of using one to the fullest?? :conf: |

Well if you want a console that's as simple as a toaster then nobody is stopping you. Some people just want more and don't want to have to sit in front of a PC to do it. I'd much rather watch DVDs and play emulators and whatnot in full surround sound on my coach than on my PC. I wouldn't want a lame system like PS2 but that's just me. |

Yes, because if I wanted a cup of tea and some toast for my breakfast then the semi-toasted bread would more than likely fall out of the toasting section when I pour my water from the kettle section. :p

In that case, why not just connect your PC up to your TV?
Also I've never heard of any games that you could play using an emulator ("nintendo, snes, sega genesis, game boy advance" as you said) that actually takes advantage of surround sound. As for the point of watching DVDs, standalone DVD players are incredibly inexpensive. ;)

Nice way to belittle your entire argument with an elitist comment there... |
