And they have the big dig...although I'd be careful about that one because I hear they have a lot of problems with it...primarily corruption and contractor hired ty workers/suppliers and the thing is leaking periodically...there's an investigation going on into it.

And Trump is building his buildings there too now :)

edit: actually I've heard things are looking up for the Big Dig and Boston... although it was a boondoggle, it may actually work well

We cant compare to seattle. Ive been there. Although its a nice city the buildings are all in a compact area and would maybe fill 1/5th of our downtown core. Plus they arent very tall either. Citycorp condos alone when its all done will be more of a skyline than what Seattle has.

Chi-town and Toronto people are very similar attitudes as well I find...

I doubt they are as closed off and snobby as we are.

Don't know about that but I know that Chicago's been voted over and over as the "healthiest" and most "health-conscious" city in the USA by (I think) Men's Health Magazine ;)

Not that we're not health conscious

it's funny you mention that because Chicago had recently moved underway with regards to finally having their waterfront redone while we're still waiting .. and waiting.. and etc..

look at all those expressways going into the downtown core

also, Chicago has a decent public transit system

Chicago is the city Toronto wishes it could be.

you also have to take into consideration that chicago is the 3rd largest city in north america and has well over twice the amount of ppl that toronto does...the chicagoland area has 10,000,000 + ........and if you think the gardner can get bad and congested try driving the loop at any time of the day, any day of the week.....it puts the gardiner to shame concerning traffic congestion...

you're so right about Chicago being beautiful! there was a whole news segment on City "making Toronto a better place to live" (?) - TO learning from Chi-Town. x years ago, they were in the same sit'n of having an expressway that ran through their downtown.
anyway, right along their waterfront were industrial, rundown buidings, just like ours. they've since developed those areas into parks and bike pathways (what a change!). wasn't there talk of doing that here? what's that area, around the docks..? blah, how ugly :(

so much potential
