I lived around Bloor & Spadina. There was this big apartment-type building that might now be a retirement home called Senator David Croll building - was called Rochdale College back then. Lots of weed dealers in there and they were always being raided by the cops so they would announce raids on the building PA system and everyone would hide their stuff! They had no regular garbage removal, it was hippy chaos, so every few weeks they would just sweep huge loads of garbage from each floor straight into an elevator until it was packed, and then send the elevator down to the ground level to be shovelled out!

If you are talking about the one at the Gardiner they ripped out the guts, kept the facade and made it into the Air Canada Centre. |

^^^ after checking out more images I think the building which was probably built in the 1920s or 1930s is still there and not changed much from **cough1970cough**. There's a recent virtual 3D photo of Union Station at http://www.hainsworth.com/qtvr/union/union1.html and if you scroll the top image to the left you can see the building. It's just to the east of Union Station, SE corner of Bay & Front. We would sometimes have lunch on the roof of the building and in the sides of the limestone or sandstone walls up there you could see prehistoric fossilized marine creatures, I guess that is common in those types of rock.
That was the period before disco and clubs had rock music, and there were go-go girls in cages hanging from the ceiling, it was funny but you could see a lot of the girl customers were jealous of those go-go dancers. |

not at all... many better DJ's to choose from tiesto! if he was playing in every club i'd go insane... perhaps start a global riot:D |

| When it comes to talking about the definition of skyline, NYC is where it's at :eyespop: I think Toronto will need more then 15 years, on a rough note, the new condominious that are beign built, takes on average a year & a half to complete. I believe that Toronto could have 1 of the newest & deviant skyline's in the world. |
