ff7 opening reworked and done in realtime on ps3 hardware.

Man that trailer brings back so many memories. Looks really good too. :eyes:

The console looks somewhat like a sleek breadbin, though better in the picture with Ken Kutaragi.

As for the controller, I'd have been more than happy with a wireless Dual Shock 2. But I think that, with a bit of a rejig, it'll turn out good in the end.

The games trailers have me much, much more excited than those for the Xbox 360, but then I'm a bit of a Sony fanboy so that's to be expected.

I wish.

It's only a technical demo.

they said ff7 would make it to the ps2 in "some form"...probably in an anthology type game. or maybe ehrgeiz 2 :toothless

I was bored (and sad) enough to watch the entire PS3 conference on GameSpot. It's all about the rubber ducks and the Eyetoy interaction, seriously. If you want to see what I mean, stream the conference from GameSpot (it's free and you don't have to sign up) and skip to around 57 minutes. It's very impressive and much more fun than most tech demos.

Also, if you want a sure indication of what PS3 can deliver graphically, check out the Unreal engine tech demo. It's on IGN's PS3 site. Unlike most of the game demos (Killzone, for instance), there's no question that it shows real-time performance as opposed to being pre-rendered.

What I'd like to see now is a strong selection of software at launch, a rejigged controller and an affordable price. Somehow, I think that last one might be out of the question. :(
