The PS2 has a lot of games shared with XBOX, a number of which got higher ratings on XBOX than on PS2. |
Any proof? Sounds like pure bull to me. :D
By the way, did the Xbox get a racing game as good looking as Gran Turismo 4 yet? You'd have thought so if it's much more powerful. |

| Well IMO, the Xbox destroys the PS2 hands down simply for what modding turns the Xbox into. An Xbox with an X3 installed hoooked up to a monitor using the X2VGA+ adapter blows away anything the PS2 could hope to do visually and capability wise. |

Forza Motorsport is very impressive but BARELY misses GT4's quality. |

I never claimed it was more powerful, I said more features. It can do a hell of a lot more than a PS2 can, hence why I prefer XBOX.
IGN.com for example: Choas Theory, Brothers In Arms: Rode To Hill 30, Burnout 3. Just a few examples of games rated higher. You can list one game and say that PS2 is better, right.
I like XBOX because of games like Halo, Jade Empire, Project Gotham Racing, Ninja Gaiden, Fable, Doom 3, Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict, Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball, MechAssault, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, etc. That's just off the top of my head, games that are exclusive to XBOX.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Modding unlocks what a system is capable. In PS2s case it bypasses security so you can play burnt games. In XBOXs case it lets you play burnt games, copy games to your HD, swap out the HD and DVDROM for better hardware, play SNES, GBA and even Playstation games on it, watch any type of movie on it (just to name a few things).

I dunno. Something about voiding the warranty on your X-Box (considering it was never intended to be modded) doesn't sound too much of a "It's Better" factor that you can use.
It was originally marketed to do the same thing the PS2 does. Play games. |

You void the warranty if you solder a chip to it. Peel the warranty sticker off if you're doing anything internal and then put it right back on when you're done, or just get a new one.
I'm not talking what it was intended for, obviously a game console is meant to be sold with that in mind. I said what it's capable of not what it was made for. |

That's the point, though. The developer did NOT want you to do something like solder a chip onto it. If you want to play foreign games, you either purchase the location-specific console or you shouldn't even bother thinking about it. That's according to the developer.

Your argument is too vague. Anything has a "capability" that can be brought out if tested around. Heck, by your argument, it's possible to say that you can hook up a PS2 to a car and, hypothetically speaking, the on-board system will work tons better AND you'll be able to play PS2 in your car at the same time. |

The developer of my computer doesn't want me using any P2P programs, it voids the warranty on my computer so does that mean that just because a company says do one thing with it, that you can't do another if it makes the computer more powerful or fun to use?
Possible and logical are two different things. Soldering a new chip into an XBOX to unlock a load of features is a little different than hooking your PS2 up to a car battery. They make the systems so that it has everything it needs already, a modchip unlocks extra features. |

Actually, the developer could care less what you do with it. He's left it to the RIAA and the MIOA to handle these things CONSIDERING there are legal P2P programs. In no way does it "void the warranty" on your comp. LOL... Go ahead and call Dell and tell them that you have a P2P program on your computer. Will they do anything? No.

I'm sorry but this makes no sense. If it has everything it needs already, then there's no need for a mod chip. These "extra features" weren't supposed to be offered in the first place. In your example, my PS2-car example would make perfect sense. "Well, it's a game system but it can also help improve your car!" Just like "Well, it's an X-Box but it is also an emulator box for consoles having nothing to do with Microsoft." |

Oh so the manufacterer of my computer must have lied to me and my dad then when they were going over warranty info .
This is really getting just plain stupid. Just don't bother. |

No the modding fan base proves that it has about as many features as a PC. Every system is essentialy a PC because it has a lot of the hardware of one so PS2 is a PC too, so is Gamecube, there, happy now?
I'm glad you can do all that, so can I, but I'd rather do it in front of a big screen TV and be able to take it anywhere I go very easily. I also want something that won't get bogged down by spyware and whatnot. |

I want to see some proof of this. This is probably the funniest thing I've heard in a while.

Trying to justify the "awesomeness" of an X-Box due to its "capabilities" was silly in the first place. Sorry but I didn't cast the first stone here. |
