I'm not looking for "omg your fav set of alllll time" because that's a mixture of both track selection and mixing. I just want some ideas of some uplifting trance sets that have almost flawless mixing. It can be from any time, early 90's-present.

| That set has the single best transition I've ever heard (in a trance set) and I doubt I'll ever hear one that beats it. |

The thing with PvD and his mixing is the consistency issue. When on form, he can piece tracks together like no man in his 'genre field' and will have the balls to make a transition between 2 of the most differently obscure tracks you can think of, example being rafferty & kershaw - we are conncted into james holden - nothing and then back out into weekend wonder. And you just know it will be pulled off to good effect. But when not on form, his mixing will almost resemble that of someone like Tiesto. I would check out:
Paul van Dyk - Live At Columbihalle (20-07-2001)
There are 4 parts to it I think, and I seem to remember the mixing being hot throughout. |
