I find ignoring them works. Like i said, most of the time it's just a phase anyways. They'll either get over it or commit suicide :D |

| Not saying smoking up when ur 7 is a-ok, but my curiosity demands that I ask when yall think it's okay to smoke weed then? when you're 10? 12? or only when you're 16? |

Spare the rod spoil the child. In a country where kids can get their parents arrested for a smack on the bum its no wonder we have these problems.
These loser wimpy punishment systems arent working... the strap always worked for me. In fact the strap was only used twice ever. It was fear of the strap that kept me in line. |
Kids NEED to have their ass popped once in a while. It's an ESSENTIAL child development tool. I don't give a damn where i live. If my kid acts up, they will feel the reprecussion. Plain and simple. I can't even begin to imagine what i'd do if my kid called the cops on me...
First i'd probably tell the cop to off...
Then i'd turn to my kid and tell em to pack their and get the fack outta my house...i don't care if the rugrats got dribble comming down the side of his/her mouth. If you can't respect your Father/Mother then you better find someone on the street who gives a damn about you...
Garunteed 10 minutes out on the cold hard street will be nuff of a lesson to realize that a smack on the ass when you've done something to deserve it is nothing...hell, i remmeber laughing at my mom everytime she'd smack me cause it got to a stage when it hurt her hand more then it hurt me.
I turned out fine...26 years later and i don't believe i've ever sworn at or in the presence of her. RESPECT. Without Question. Without condition. |

| As sad as that is, it is all too common these days...there was a lady I worked with that had her 12yr son admitted to the hospital for huffing....kids these days have no fear.....and think that they are invincible... |

| With they way society, education, and parenting are these days, can you really be surprised. Number one, where the f*** are the parents? Instead of taking active, participating, and sharing roles in their childrens lives, they complain at how hard it is to discipline and teach a child. NO , IT TAKES ACTUAL EFFORT. Number two, the education system seems to find more and more ways of rewarding mediocrity and failure. No no, it's ok Timmy, it's not your fault you're dumb, just go play with the silly-putty. Seems everyone is terribly concerned with child psychology and safety, and whatnot. You know what, kids are kids. They need constant attention, and ESPECIALLY in their pre-teen years must be taught the concept of action and repercussion. I'm not propagating child-abusive behaiviour, but it just seems that the 'good old days' of parenting have gone, only to be replaced by communal mentality tought by schools, as well as any other number of socially accepted, but ineffective methods that ultimately are designed to be EASIER to implement. |
