Kids are incredibly spoiled. I find myself wanting to smack most the kids I see lipping off their parents. Man, if I looked at mine the wrong way..my ass be tanned when we were home for sure.
As for the grade 5 kids smoking pot and cutting already. :wtf: Chances are they'll go to councilling which, imo, doesn't do much at all. |

| Let's face it.. kids are having to grow up at a much younger age now. Issues that did not have to be dealt with in the past are now surfacing. Kids know more... You can't expect these things to not happen.. given the amount of knowledge they have versus their maturity level.. it's a pretty dangerous combination. Now you have several choices... take away reality from them.. or watch as they take it full frontal. Gone are the days where you can assume that your kids have no idea what a blow job is. Don't hope that they won't encounter it.. Make sure you're there telling them about it. |

i dont buy it.
The obsessed nature in self esteem education now taught to kids at school. Kids are told that they are number 1 and that they shouldnt let anyone tell them otherwise. They are the best no matter what. The problem is they grow up and take this attitude with them. It causes disrespect and disloyalty to parents and bosses because "why should you tell ME what to do because i am the best"
Then you get the new age teaching where games have no winners nor losers. Everyone wins! Then these kids feel they have a sense of entitlement because that is what they were taught. This promotes greed and negates respect for others acheivements.
Add to this that you can no longer properly disapline kids. Especially at school. You cant even grab the arm of a child who is running away from you? And parents? Half the time they dont even give a and would rather give in to shut the kid up then actually punish him and listen to the screaming and carrying on that goes with it.
And then you wonder why kids grow up so fast? |

The only difference between now and then is this...
Things are just more to the surface now....kids will always have sex, know what oral, anal and everything is...From 40 years ago to now...same thing.
I am 35...so 19 years ago I was 16...I knew what all that was...and found willing participants to try things with at the time...All you can do is just try to bring kids up right, show a good example and hope that 5% of what you try to teach them sticks....if 5% sticks, you are doing pretty good... |

except that we are talking about 6-12 year olds here. Teenagers are a different matter altogether except that they seem to be mouthier than ever. |

to me that's way better than being so social you like cutting yourself with your friends on a regular basis in grade 5.
anyways, my friend's mom home school all her four youngest kids and they all turned out amazing.
you just have to know how to do it. |

I went to buy my first bag of pot when I was in...3rd? 4th grade?
I do agree that many things that are goin on today are friggin stupid...the 'touchy feely' approach doesn't work that well...
As I have said in the earlier post...all you can do is just try and raise kids with some moral backbone, discipline and common sense.
Just because a lot of kids are doing this or that..doesn't mean that they ALL are... |
