props for Will and Alucard.

The vocals really are..not pleasent and the singing sounds to random for my taste.

I guess people are used to be having a real 'original' mix to the vocals, I honestly thought myself that the track Alucard did was the original mix and therefore assumed there would be a midi file available of it.

I know it's common to work around vocals for many people, but for a remix compo 'just for fun', I think a midi isn't too much asked. I've alway tried to be creative with a midi as well - totally up to the artist itself I think...

If it were serious, I would totally understand you'd rely on creativity and inspiration.

No offence to anyone - Ricksta & Yaz in particular - just my opinion... ;)

then you probably shouldn't be producing.

i'm also with the consensus that there isn't any need for a midi. there's barely any melodic elements you can make a worthwhile midi out of anyway, and both mixes on the vinyl have taken completely different melodic interpretations to the original (which was a pop song, not dance/trance in the slightest)

creativity is a lost art it seems...

another remix here if anyone's interested: http://isoterra.artists.mpfspromoti...-edit_take2.mp3 , again, completely different melodic interpretation
The Drow
I just don't have the musical training to create a midi myself.
I need the bassline atleast to make a remix.
I'm making my own pattren of course but I have to know the key...
I'd prefer to play with the original melody too.

play the vocals

hit the piano roll on various keys

if they sound good with the vocals then use that scale

simple.

seems like people don't want to use a bit of initiative
Ricksta
I;d love to be able to post up a midi just to keep people who want a midi happy. But unfortunatly there isnt one, so its pretty hard to provide it :p

The Drow
