I enjoyed ATRC more than I did stella, if you do a blind comparison new tune vs old tune it doesnt always prove the old era over the new one.
even among old skool kids, alot of them still eat up that anjunabeats stuff. I don't think it is a 100% thing, some people still make great trance songs, they are just a bit harder to separate from the crap. I don't think it is smart to assume that the years past songs are always better all the time.
but stella vs atrc is interesting, they both seem to have lyrics about people cuddling while they are rolling their brains off, they both use synthy sounds which sound really pretty on E. What makes you think that stella is so much better? the only thing stella really has going for it is that it came first, and could in turn be seen as more original, but if a kid didn't know what time the tune came from then it wouldn't sound very original at all, and could very well sound worse than ATRC.
i dunno, I just think alot of this trance is dead feeling comes from people getting nostalgic, that and growing bored of things always sounding the same. I think that the novelty of the music is what makes kids favor the older songs, things just aren't as new and exciting anymore. It isnt so much that the people in the old days were more talented, just that they are favored because they did it first. |

Hmm, you really need Eng comp 1 mate but its ok i guess. Anyways, asot 185 is my fav, and i'm going to see AvB in SF on the 27th end of the week. I'm sure me and my mates will have a blast.

The music doesnt feel like anything meaningful, almost as if it has turned into a commodity.

I don't know how you did meet 's' in the trance scene. But yes, the high friendliness you witness in a trance club is because of MDMA. I dont' know if that is a lie or not.
Drugs enhances the clubbing experience, but whether it is alright is left to individuals. From your post, I gather that you are totally against any form of drug abuse? |
