What do you really think of Americans?

I'm going to be traveling to London in November, Surrey area, for Guy Fawks Day. I've never been to Europe before.
I really don't trust the American news media, so I would like to get some real "first hand" information about what you really think of Americans, the people, not the politics, good or bad.
Is it safe for an American to roam around London?

OMG, you can't wander round london on guy fawkes day, it's an old english law that any american found in surrey on guy fawkes night can legally be drowned in the river thames:nervous:

AFAIK, english people don't have a problem with americans. Central london is so full of tourists anyway, you probably wouldn't even stand out that much:) |

except a few off TA... the rest of the bunch just annoy the crapper out of me whne they say they are the smartest on the face of the planet when they spell color... rather then colour.... or when they are cocky about there own strengeth... and belive that they can take control of the world to rule and make it peacful on there own turfs... bloody damn know it alls |

Don't want to rule the world, I know I'm not smart enough. Just want to not pay too much tax, eat, drink beer, dance, raise my kids, and not have to worry about someone dropping a couple of 100+ story buildings on my head.
And I find that the older I get, the more I realize that I don't know (e? pron. plz.) :haha: |

Maybe its the novelty of a non-British accent... or maybe it's that we associate the american accent with rich/successful Brad Pitt types or something... who knows?
Never thought about the nasality thing, but it brings a smile to my face the way you talk at like 100mph and use those expressions that I only usually hear in the movies. So who knows -you might get lucky! :p |
