ahhh jem man, you're even getting your own phrases wrong.
speedos are known as nut huggers or grape smugglers.
to pike it is to bounce, or to bail, or to jet, or to take off, or to 'make like a bannana and split' or 'make like a tree and leaf'
and wife beaters are known as beaters here dude. Talk to any lifeguard here and they'll all complain about their 'beater tan'.
And saying 'reckon' isn't a bad thing either. Sounding hick at the right time makes conversation more entertaining. |

re: the wifebeater thingie, well, maybe it was just tessa, but her and Laura (another aussie friend she met at york) both always referred to beaters as singlets. when i first mentioned whut i was wearing was a beater, she was confused. she was like "ah, u mean singlets, i gotcha now! :)"
and ya, piking it... sorry, i was just using it in that one context.. ie. leaving a party.. i figured it just generally meant to leave someplace...

they're called Wife Beaters, because generally people who beat their wives, may wear such a singlet..

4 eps have been aired. Their new show AMERICAN DAD is f00ckin' hilarious too. Same , just more politcal. Same cartoonist and everthing, exactly the same kinda feel. I cant wait till i grow to appreciate this as much as I do family guy!!!

What the fark? I have NEVER heard any aussie refer to them as bathers. For guys, we say "boardies"(boardshorts) or "swimmers" and for chicks they would just say "swimming costume" or bikini.\
