Bathers and cossies are quite common names for swimming costumes. Sif Aussies can string two large words like swimming and costume together without the need to somehow abbreviate it.

I prefer the term "wife basher", and i would say that most of my friends say the same :p. Then again, i would probably just say singlet most of the time.

:stongue: :stongue: :stongue: @ "hoser" LOL, i dont think ive EVER in my life heard someone say that! :whip: but yet its something ppl attribute to us, like "eh" LOL... *amusing* :D

Yea, Lleytons not my favourite player, his matches are enjoyable to watch tho since hes such an agressive player. :thepirate

"white basher"... thats interesting... heheh, ill see whut peps up here think of that one.

Boardies, ya i knew that one... swimmers just makes sense. we'd not say either here tho... for guys, ud prolly just say either: bathing suit (implies your board shorts), board shorts, or trunks (<<< not sure how often ive heard that one used tho anymore)

swiming costume sounds bizare, i cant believe yall woudl say that :p

:happy2: Oh... to analyzse cultural verbal sayings... :disbelief

Maybe its different in Sydney, but the term bathers is commonly used down here in Melb. Also use the term boardies and bikini but never swimmers or swimming costume.
