The pics I took will be posted - they are residing in Keith's phone at the moment due to my own camera taking a nasty dive and breaking during the morning. :( There are some awesome ones - as well as the Event Pic of RJ randomness that always seems to occur. |
Awww, that really sucks about your camera :(
Was the memory card wrecked too?? If not I am sure you can take it in to a camera store and they can get the pics off....or even if you have a friend who's camera uses the same type of memory |

Have to quote this review cause you summed it up so well. Party of the last year.5 or even 2 years. I couldn't believe how wicked that music sounded up there. Track after track after track after track. Great seeing ya Karlo. I saw a few others but I haven't done the full weekend bender in quite a long time and wasn't much for words.
Def'n got my boogie on though.
Many have mentioned, gonna remember this party for a while.
Thanks for the pics guys, keep'm coming if you have some.

WOW
Definitely the best night out I’ve had this year and far and away the best time I have ever had at the Guvernment.
Got to Guvernment after 3am just in time to catch the last few minutes of Sashas first main room set. Shortly thereafter Lawler came on and did his thing for around two hours. Playing big rooms warrants playing big tunes and Lawler played some big big tracks last night. He didn’t waste too much time warming up and was pretty much hammering that room right from the get go. Sasha came back on at around 5am to close out the room. Stuck it out in the main room for a good 30 minutes or so and didn’t mind the music Sasha was playing. But once ‘Reflections’ came on I took that as my cue to leave the main room for the rest of the night (lol I HATE that track with a passion). Now if the night had stopped there it still would have been a good night out for me, but that was just the beginning of the sheer insanity that was to take place.
The morning really took off for me when I got to Skybar and Lawler came on to start his sunrise set. Steve’s Skybar set was more up my alley than the main room set. It had that same slow funky build his last set here in March had that I loved and from there he gradually started to pick up the pace and in no time he was rocking out the chunky yet still funking funky block rocking house beats. Steve played for around an hour and a half before Sasha joined him in the DJ booth and this is where it really started to get mental.
Much to the surprise of everyone on Skybar for the next two hours Steve + Sasha went back to back to close the party out. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing / hearing. I didn’t know if their sounds would work together but I thought that they sounded and played pretty well together. For the first time in an incredibly long time I can honestly say that I thought Sasha threw down an awesome set (on Skybar). None of that trancey progressive house music, just straight bassy vibed up party house music. And then of course, Lawler was Lawler. Hammering out that chunky future funky dirty house sound that if you ask me no one pimps as good as he does. Big big basslines all morning from the man like and Lawler.
It looked like Steve + Sasha were having a blast up in the DJ booth as well, I don’t think i’ve EVER seen either of them as animated and happy behind the decks. They were jumping around like crazy, clapping their hands, singing to the music, playing with the crowd etc. It was great seeing them having as much fun in the DJ booth as we were on the dancefloor. And by the looks of it people were having just as an amazing time on the dancefloor as Steve and Sasha were having in the booth. Skybar was GOING OFF all morning. Really good party vibes up there last night with a very up for it crowd.
The morning just kept on getting better and better UNTIL the fun police decided to show up to shut the party down just before 10am (thanks to the once again annoying islanders and their noise complaints). One of the officers was giving Steve a hard time over the volume of music and Steve was unfortunately forced to shut off the music completely. Boooooo to the police and the islanders. BUT good on GUV for throwing this party last night. That was one LEGENDARY party that I wont be forgetting anytime soon that is for sure. |
