if you weren't there...
you prolly missed one of the best parties of the year...if not one of the best parties this city has ever seen. I am still completely speechless over what transpired just under 24 hours ago. I truly was in a state of shock when all was said and done. I can't even write a review for this...it was all just too magical.

Paolo Mojo - boring to start...brilliant setup job for sasha
Sasha - holy budd!! you COMPLETELY made up for every boring moment I've ever been through at your hands at clubs. Granted, these are few and far between...he proved ONCE again that legends are not simply created out of thin air. Class..pure class.
STEVE ING LAWLER - oh for s sake...this man is godly behind the decks...FILTHY FILTHY FILTHY!!!!!!!!! i couldn't take the filthiness...There was no standing when he played...you had to move...GENIUS>>>THE MAN IS A GENIUS. his track Illectronic Music was hands down the tune of the night for me...place went NUTS.
The back to back on the skybar = again SPEECHLESS....if you weren't there, you missed it...and SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!! who woulda thought that these 2 woulda spent the last 2 hours going back to back (1 track each i believe) chugging out some of the most intense music I have EVER had the pleasure of hearing.
I can't believe it happened...i can't believe its over....I can't believe Lawler didn't knock that cop on his ass with some sort of dirty bassline (j/k j/k). How bout that ovation at the end....MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!

Rest of the crowd - not bad considering the event

Sasha Owned me without a doubt. This was the party of the year for me. I don't think I will even bother going to Tiesto now...who wants my ticket :toothless
Lawler....as always was magic and I couldn't stop moving.
I wish I could have stayed to see them battle off....I knew it was going to happen but I was hoping it would have been earlier in the night.
Sasha is a legend and Lawler is well on his way there. |

i felt the same way after DELTA HEAVY!!! after that i didnt take anyother party seriously (how the fvck could i?). i wonder what who was better....sasha & digweed or sasha & lawler....for those who were @ both can you decide? |

| Great event....Went in with no expectation for the early part of the night --Sasha's set-- since i had been greatly dissapointed by his last performance....But boy o boy, did he play well or what....As soon as he graced the decks, looked very happy and one could see he was out to set a few things straight....Melodic tunes with solid basslines.....Just the way i like it :)... Absolute perfection it was.....Lawler came and caused some more destruction and then came Sasha's turn again...Holy , this time he was even more harder.....Almost felt like I was at a techno Jam for a little while lol....Sasha single handedly stole the show for me....Great DJ with amazing skill....Never again will I miss Sasha :gsmile: |

I'm not sure how but I managed to survive the night.
Sasha kicked my ass so bad I thought I was going to end up in intensive care. Then Lawler took the decks and threw some of the dirtiest darkest I've ever heard, which made my condition all the more serious. When Sasha came back to the decks he continued his assult on me until I thought I would need to be taken out in an air ambulance. Thankfully, Lawler's set in the skybar started out at a slightly relaxed pace which afforded me time to recover from the extreme beating he and Sasha had put on me earlier. Unfortunately, I was too sketchy to keep it going for Lawler vs. Sasha.... too bad because I knew it was going to happen and I wanted to be there for it.
Definately the party of the year thus far. Anyone that wants to out due this night has got their work cut out for them. |

And I can finally post a review after getting much needed 12-hours of uniterrupted sleep.
First off, the Detroit crew (me, Michelle, Jason, and Keith) got to Penny's Palatial resting grounds around 7:30pm. We grabbed some pizza and vodka to begin our journey before heading over to the Guv around 10:00pm. We got in right as doors opened through the Guv entrance and found out later this was a good move seeing as the people in the Drink weren't allowed downstairs till 4am. The Guv was kickin' - Oliver started it off hard rather than slow and I highly appreciated that. Pablo was good too when he came on next - but then Sasha came on. The crowd was screaming when he appeared (good to know people actually RECOGNIZE DJs - unlike those of us who don't) and he just kept it going. And then Lawler.....damn, he is still my favorite live DJ - that man is just plain DIRTY!
But the moment you were allowed upstairs to Skybar, I hightailed it up with Fran and Andrew where we found the other TOTAs strategically placed so they did not miss the Lawler and Sasha morning combo. The dancers they had up on the stage....wow...leather bondage outfits and even a topless girl. And the music....damn!!!! For sure one of the best shows I've ever attended - perhaps even Number One in my book.
Thank you to Ray and Marge for hosting a great after party. It was sorely needed after the craziness of the event. :) And congrats again RJ - glad your birthday weekend was EXCELLENTE! It was awesome to see all the great TOTAs out this weekend - you guys and gals are a definite deciding factor in heading up to TO so much! I'll see you all in two weeks for Canada Day weekend.
The pics I took will be posted - they are residing in Keith's phone at the moment due to my own camera taking a nasty dive and breaking during the morning. :( There are some awesome ones - as well as the Event Pic of RJ randomness that always seems to occur. |

90% of the bigger DJs I've met always travel with their manager. But they usually have no problem attracting a posse of groupies to party with them. Also if it's the night before a big gig they may not be in the mood for a crazy hardcore night of partying. |
