Lack of hard dance in Melbourne? About bloody time!
I think this year's GK lineup can only be a great thing for the dance/trance scene. I maintain hard dance cannot be enjoyed unless copious quantities of drugs were consumed in the first instance... and the memory of a great night was left with an incredibly false impression of how good the music actually was.
Bring on the musical, melodic headliners and may more people realise how beautiful trance can really be. |
I hope you're a girl cause now i want you!!!!!! |

anyone who thinks hardstyle and hard trance/dance are the same thing or even similar are totally wrong.
hardstyle is IMO, hard trance on the other hand can be awesome.
taubs try get a hold of yoji @ sensation black 2004, awesome set. |

| I agree with scotty, my recent shop on recess records under the trance genre turned rather y!!! 3/4 of the tunes under that category for the week were really fast and banging crap! every baseline sounded the same, there a generally two types of the same build ups that eventuate into the same crap and the tunes themselves have little talent put behind them like they've been created in some sought of a playstation game, hard trance is played to fast imo, fast doesn't make things hard, there's plenty of hard tunes out there that dont beat as fast as a woodpecker's beak in a tree stump. Quality trance nights are focused around quality trance and thats it, if harder styles were good enough, there would be more harder style raves but there's not. THANK GOD! |

I think he was more referring to the lack of hard dance at big events, not within the club scene. |

| How you figure that? there is always a kandy/ bass station room and midro in the main room? |

| yes, and there's always hard dj's playing right before international uplifting dj's. its one thing people have been complaining about since the year 2000.. so tell me how does someone start a thread stating theres a 'lack of hard dance'. |

Hey yeah, I got caught in the Tiesto adulation at Together and didn't want to miss the start of his set.
My night was nearly ruined when the superstar man was late and I ended up listening to, I think, 25 minutes of Midro... that alone nearly did my head in! Props to the man for his massive local following, but does Midro play extra loud or what??
Also, what exactly is a closing set? I still believe a decent main room closer could (should?!) let us gently down after a big night. I still remember Gods last year, heading back down to the tennis centre in the morning and daylight was flooding through the skylights. People were still rocking so, so hard to incredibly pounding music and the whole sight was just... scary! |

Yeh! wtf's with scott alert playin before signum?!? (was it him or ajax?!? I dun rememba).
As above- good on him for being so locally established but just a little more flow (forethought by FE) would have been appreciated! Maybe it's just the chinstroking minority that would notice that.. and perhaps the rest of the punters wouldn't really give a .. and the majority is what you have to cater for, and that is why FE is such a juggernaut :( ) |
