The first rule of teaching is to explain and relate your concepts in a manner which your audience will understand, and that seems to me what He did. |
I didn't learn how to do that from Jesus, I learnt how to do it from Doctor Johnny Fever on WKRP in the episode where he explained an atom to a gang member :) |

2) What is Good & what is Evil?
3) What is the Prime Reality?
4) Is there anything outside time & space? |

I wouldn't necessarily say that being open minded is accepting others. You can accept others even if you radically oppose their views for no reason, but don't confront them about it. When confronted with an argument, an open minded individual would not hold steadfast to their position, but rather learn about the opposing argument, and then make a decision. You believe in God, the holy trinity, etc, and you believe anyone who says otherwise is wrong. that, my friend, is not being open minded |
You are wrong. To be open minded is to listen to others opinions and views and then make a decision based on your knowledge and experience. To be closed minded is to not listen to anyone but yourself. By your definition anyone that has an opinion and holds to what they believe is closed minded. I suppose the only way someone to you is open minded is if they change their opinion every time people present them with enough "evidence" that they will change their mind.
Personally I would much rather be steadfast in what I believe in with my own opinion than to be indecisive, wishy-washy, and able to be prodded in any direction that others can successfully persuade me to go. I respect Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Atheists, and any other religion or belief than someone that is too weak as a person to make their own mind up and must be told what to believe through other people or the media. Also you can respect people and their beliefs even if you dont believe in their religion, that is tolerance. However, to say that because he believes in those things that he is closed minded is actually making you the intolerant one
In other words open-minded does not always have to equal open to change but open to the opinions of others in respect. |

100% agree. if everyone were that type of open-minded, it would be very easy to be brainwashed by the media or gov't propaganda. i hate the atheist idiots who argue about open-mindedness when they themselves arent open-minded. they are just as hypocritical as the christians. |
