for me, in western canada (eh!), trance is one of the least popular music, and uh.... if you say trance people automatically think some techno remix of an alicia keys song, i guess it happens in the States as well.

but what i'm asking here is, since trance is one of the last big genres of music start growing, do you think it will increase in popularity and so someone will know what your talking about when you say "Ferry corsten"?

you see imo, trance is the only genre of music left that is not played in the mainstream radio, only on underground music stations and the like which play at like 3:00am

anyway, i'll leave you guys to answer....

I'm not going to say anything about trance in the future until the future arrives. As of now, here's no tellin what's gonna happen. We'll just have to wait and find out.

i say no
hip/hop rap, rock, pop... will always be popular cuz singers and artists are always in the media

Not too sure about it becoming huge... as much as I want it too though....But it definately is growing all over...lets hope so....and in the mean time pray that electronica overpowers and rules out "rap" in 10 yrs.... :gsmile:

maybe some guy will jump into mainstream music with his trance and all of a sudden get in trouble, everyone'll know about him.
ex: i didn't know about paris hilton till her sex tape showed up

edit:the thing about rap is that all the music sounds the same... i used to listen to it for awhile, i even tried rapping, now the only rap i listen to is k-os blackeydpeas and ugly duckling.

I break dance to their stuff, and its cuz the muzic is funky

BTW, you're saying that you haven't heard trance music on mainstream radio. Trance music was played on mainstream radio here in Boston. I've been listening to trance off of the radio for five years.

i'm on van isle, in a small town and the only trance track i heard, well, good trance track, was jake farley (the generator, or something like that)

there are no completely devoted-to-trance radio stations here....

umm last time i checked trance was scheduled to be the most popular in about 532 days 23 hours 34 minutes and 15 seconds...though i may be mistaken.

seriously you could never know what music is going to be the most popular b/c most of the time it has to do with what kind of music people take a liking to or who the media forces on the public. since most people dont even have an individual taste in music

if trance goes to hollywood, yeah there is a big chance, because thats where all the money and fame is and all the coolness, but i dont think it will.

im not so sure i want trance to become popular..
right now, its like...'special', once it goes fully mainstream, then the genre might be corrupted, with people forgetting what trance really is and just listenin to cheese 24/7
