heh... well I'm glad I have an opinion unlike other people who have no opinion and think Armin and Tiesto's opinion is more valid than their own.

Hey nice work man, thought I'd better listen to it instead of hijacking your thread to poke fun at Gerry :D
The sound quality is incredible, really nice. The overall sound is very polished and, as said previously, very ASOT which is an excellent standard to achieve.
I like the melody coming out of the breakdown, these kind of runs absolutely kill me on the dancefloor, just so beautiful and so uplifting.
Listening to the tune at work here, the only thing that stood out was the bass sound during the breakdown, 1:31. Would probably work really well in a club but I dunno, sounds a little bit simple for just listening.
Absolutely top notch work man! :eyespop:

hey at least it'll still keep bumping up if you do make fun of me (I'm sure Static Blue wants you to make fun of me), but hey there's not much you can make fun of me with regarding what I posted... It takes a lot more guts to share your true opinion than to follow the crowd.

and I do agree with you about the bassline plucking its way during the breakdown... I think maybe it shouldn't be there... sounds kind of out of place... and makes the buildup less dramatic... but that's just my 2 cents.

Crystal clear production and that lead is something pretty special. Cant really fault it, great work dude.

I think I must be jaded though, cos normally something like this would send shivers down my spine... but nothing.. nada.. Guess its just similar to a lot of other productions I've heard recently. Could do with something else to make it stand out if thats what your aiming for. =)

maybe it just needs to be in a good DJ set :P... sometimes the way the DJ plays it makes a difference... and the tracks it's between makes a big difference too.

from now on I call break-master :) such an amazing break with the pads and the piano...
one thing I think that need to be improved is the bass - make it more bassy, boost the low freqs a bit.

Thanks guys !

really glad most of you like it :)
i'll have to do something about the bass in the break !

I don't want the thread to become a flamewars though

Great work man! I like your style, with the more subtle sounds and lovely piano-ish sound. Bit muffled, but it adds to the atmosphere. Would love the finished version one day ;)

Gawd, am I glad you weren't scared of using a nice snareroll to build the climax, it really helps. People seem to be scared to use it nowadays, but I like it so much... Definately builds the tension like nothing else I think.

I do think the bassline needs just a little more depth, but that'd be the only thing I'd really change.

Good job!
Wim

PS:

gerry: "Carl B - All Day" has also been one of the best tracks I heard over here. No fluffy, proggy/housey, all-to-same-ish sh** like there's oh so much around nowadays, just plain good old uplifting trance the way I like it and that you would be able to recognize an artist's style for.

This is pretty good, but nothing spectacular.

The piano, although very cliché, certainly gives the track a good bit of beef and makes things stand out, especially in the breakdown. Other than that, though, this track doesn't really offer much else over most other melodic trance tunes. Melodically, it's a bit too standard for me - it's just various sawtooth ostinatos, and then a main sawtooth melody, we've been there hundreds of times before. Simplicity is always a good thing, but I also find the percussion in this track to be far too bland, there's not enough there to give the track sufficient drive.

It's solidly produced overall, maybe lacking a bit in the bass region, but that's just personal preference. I'm sure you could find a label for this, as it is radio and club standard as far as production quality is concerned. But what is there in this piece of music that marks you out as a special producer? Where's the hook, the piece of inspiration that makes it YOUR OWN? If you want to be reknowned as something better than the rest, you need to personalise your music rather than just following standards that we've been hearing for years.

Anyway, that's something to think about. Good luck in your search for success.

Interesting stuff :)
Awesome arpeggios fter the break :eyes:
The track is quite standard (especially the bassline pattern) but the arpeggios make the tune really interesting.
