Review: Cor Fijneman & Mark Norman at Viva (pg. 2)

I got in around 2:30 and Mark Norman was layin down a bangin set. Took a little while to get into the groove because it was so friggin hot in there. Hung out in the smoking area to cool down. Good seeing you again Robby. Hope you feel better soon.
Cor played a really good set. When he dropped tears from the moon the place went nuts or maybe it was just the TAs. :) I was singing at the top of my lungs and I looked around, many of the TAs were doing the same.
DJ Tygon took over from Cor and proceeded to belt out an awesome tech-trance set. Good job man!! I stuck around until 6:30 when my feet just gave out.
As always the TAs were the party. I don't know how I would have survived there without a few familiar faces. The Viva crowd isn't what it used to be. I was feeling no energy from them. The one thing they got going is their go-go dancers... w00t! :toothless
Met a couple of TAs for the first time. Tygon, Celica, awishabear, SPANIARD, Irishaddict & Nick... nice meeting you guys!
Hope to see everyone out for Above & Beyond!

| Wow, sounds like everyone had a great time. I'm kind of POed that I couldn't make it out, but more pressing needs came up, and needed to be taken care of. , I kind of miss Viva. Oh well, next time. |

That was a GOOD scream, really!
Ohmygod.... Soooo tired... head is banging... lack of sleep frustrating... BUT I HAD SUCH AN AWESOME TIME!
Gettin there REALLY early has become a fashion of late, I think haha but it got me there, and Celica, and I'm glad. WTF happened to TA count? Holy ... Kay, yeah that was disappointing, but man, it was an awesome night!! Cor and Norman are such AWESOME people.. Totally not what I was expecting, but they both played AMAZING sets. MARCEL WOODS - ADVANCED was HUGE! I felt terrible that I couldn't stay for Tygon's set, but I was so dead that if I didn't leave then, I wouldn't be gettin home (and UBER sorry to Danny and Aaron if my driving at 7 am after being up for 24 hours freaked you out....)
Everything was awesome there. The lights would have been waaaay better if Jayx1 had handled them, but I guess we can't have the best all the time. The bass was a LITTLE on the high side, but dah well.
The TAs that arrived, I only really knew like 5 of us! But it was a pleasure to meet DCfreqnasty, Tordan (those are awesome pics man!!!), flec, conno sur, RobbyG (again, I guess!lol) and tatgirl... FAHAD IS MY HERO!!! Smuncky, TranceGrooves, Playa24_7, Irishaddict.. Always a pleasure to see the regulars! Kudos to Dan and Laura for comin out AFTER Rev and Dennis haha!
Hopin, praying, willing that I can make it out to Above & Beyond this weekend, but no promises. I'll be at Vault this week for sure, so KWTAs, YOU'VE GOT SOME MAKIN UP TO DO! |

I hadn't been to Viva since the last time Cor was there last year. I have to admit, I was a little down, missing the old days of Viva and TR parties there- missing the old school TA posse that always used to go. As a result of missing the old crowd, the present crowd was getting on my nerves a bit. 'Zombie Nation', as I call them. ;) Man, there were so many Asian grandparents out last night... one guy so old & frail, he had the hunched-over-old-lady-bad-posture they get when they hit 70. :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:
It was unusually hot too- Sweat pissing down our faces and backs, and it was apparently even worse in the DJ booth. Even when Viva was packed to the rims in the old days, it was never that hot, not even close.
Having been asleep on my couch and waking up at 1am to head out, it took a while for me to get into the party mood. I mostly chilled out during Mark Norman's set. Then Mark & Cor went back to back for a bit, then it was Cor all the way, & I was ready to go. As always, Cor never disappoints. Tunes of the night for me had to be "Say Hello", "Tears From the Moon" (I really hurt my foot jumping around to this one). I also heard Plastic Boy "Silver Bath" and Ton TB "Electronic Malfunction" in the mix.
Surprised to see Navid (Hardcore Trancer) working security there. Navid won't admit it, but the best part of his night was the sight of my Israel jersey. ;) (Fahad- he was the dark handsome guy doing security right by the DJ booth)
Celica- DCFreqNasty is from DC (as in Washington, DC), not BC. (Kris- hopefully u call b4 u leave).
Met a lot of new TA's- Smunky (2nd time, really), Spaniard, Nick (in Black Hole shirt), DCFreqNasty, IrishAddict, trancegrooves & awishabear. Nick- can't wait to hang out again.
Of course, loved seeing the familiar faces too- Cono Sur, Tordan, Flec, Playa 24-7 (nice shirt, bud! props for driving all the way from KW and dancing like mad all night), fayraree, RobbyG, and nice to run into Andrew from Viva days of old.

oh man... I was wondering if that was you beside the DJ booth!! I saw you standing there and I go to cono_sur, isn't that hardcore trancer? Then he's like, no this guy is taller. So I thought it wasn't you. Will definitely come over and say hi next time. |

Fahad i dont even know if i made any sense when i was talking to you on the phone it was way too packed and hot on the boat we didn't end up gettin back until 2:30am :conf: soooo mad i missed this!!!:whip: :whip: shame on me!!!
