HEY! This is perfect for lazy wedding DJs!!!
If I EVER see a DJ bust one of these "toys" out at a club I'm gonna personally enter the booth and beat him over the head with it...
Note to new DJs: Don't be fooled by fancy gadgets! You'll end up hurting yourself in the long run if you buy a product for the extra crap they add. It's all just a marketing tool and will NOT make you a better DJ. Learn with the basics and you'll develop a stronger foundation. |

Dude, what's the problem? Calm.
It doesn't have pitch control, so it would be tough to spin an EDM set (properly, well minus goa I guess). I think it's awesome. |

I'm calm man... that was more of a sarcastic/joking comment... not meant to be taken seriously...
The problem I do have is that it's stuff like this that destroys DJing as an art form and lowers people's appreciation for the skill. For example, I have a friend that has a whack load of cash and decided to get into DJing. So he went out and bought Pioneer's CMX-3000s. With these dual CDJs, you simply hit a button and the machine matches the BPMs and syncs the tracks together. No beatmatching necessary. He has no understanding about the music or the industry, yet after 3 months of being a "dj", because he knows the right people, he's now playing on boat cruises and getting into some small clubs. Strange?
Now, I'm all for the digital revolution... but these gimmicks are rediculous. My point was simply that even "DJs" don't need to appreciate the science and art behind the music to complete a real set anymore... |

you're joking right?!?
- no pitch.. what's the point? you could do the same thing with 2 cd-walkmans/mp3 players plugged into the same output and using their volume and eq controls.
- need 2 X $200+ pieces of equipment.. you would have to have the same songs on both if you really intended to mix live.. otherwise "oh hold on.. pick another song first because the song you chose is on the same ipod that's playing now"
- obviously a product intended to be sold to those folks who bought an ipod "to own an ipod", i bet you'll see tons of these on fleabay within a few months of it being on the market.. |
