Well I think that's the problem with the haters in this thread. Take it for what it is, fun. No one's claiming it will make you the bestest dj in the world.

I can see this thing working at so many houseparties. At work we all had Ipods (personally I love mine, funny that I don't give a what anyone else says) and we had a Ipod Bose System so that we could "plug in." If we had this baby it would rock the house.

haters?? lol, d00d c'mon - do you _really_ think either of us would just jump up in the booth and beat someone over the head?? i think it's a dumb product, not created to "be innovative" or "supply demand" it's a luxury product, that IMO is no worth getting..

i love my ipod too.. the bose speakers are excellent, and there are more brands of ipod speakers coming out, which serves a demand.. ipods are a great way to carry a ton of music around easily (i bring it to the cottage all the time) so if you don't have a home theatre system, the speakers are an excellent investment.. i don't see the mixer serving any such need..
Orko
down with ipods!

hehe, sorry i had to say it.

enjoy what you will, its your preference.

The problem I do have is that it's stuff like this that destroys DJing as an art form and lowers people's appreciation for the skill. For example, I have a friend that has a whack load of cash and decided to get into DJing. So he went out and bought Pioneer's CMX-3000s. With these dual CDJs, you simply hit a button and the machine matches the BPMs and syncs the tracks together. No beatmatching necessary. He has no understanding about the music or the industry, yet after 3 months of being a "dj", because he knows the right people, he's now playing on boat cruises and getting into some small clubs. Strange?

Now, I'm all for the digital revolution... but these gimmicks are rediculous. My point was simply that even "DJs" don't need to appreciate the science and art behind the music to complete a real set anymore...

I couldn't agree more!

Do I think it's strange that he's getting gigs and you aren't? Not particurlarly, no.

So what? Because you can beatmatch on turntables that means you hate Ipod's? LMAO

Yep I totally agree with ya Tristan, and I also agree that it's slighly useless if you already own a mixer/amp, etc.

My problem was bringing in professional DJ's into the equation as a fair critique of the product. Numark isn't claiming it could be used by Digweed.

Tygon
lol... who said I don't get any gigs? You apparently don't know too much about the scene around here do you...? But that goes without saying considering your ignorance towards the music...

And who said I don't like IPods? I was referring to the fact that so many people buy IPods because they're the cool thing to buy. Just like the fact that so many ignorant people like you buy crap like this to be a DJ and can't understand or appreciate the music or the industry... and then wonder why they suck at it and sell their equipment on Ebay 6 months later...

You should learn not to take things out of context...

Sorry Oakenfold, I didn't realize you were a Toronto superstar. For the last two years I've been living in London England, soaking up a little bit of "the scene" over there.

Please enlighten me as to how an argument over Numark/Apple hardware reflects my personal "ignorance" towards the music!? I'm DYING to hear this.
