reasons not to pay for music, is the fact that its impossible to get.. Trance has been taken off the record stores.. its just not there, its not even possible to order it.. (i know u can order through web) but thats for those who has VISA, which myself doesnt..
and due to people cant find trance in there local music store, they would have to download it to get it..
because u are downloading it, to get it.. the record stores lose demands, and therefore wouldnt consider importing it..
also, the quality of trance has really decreased.. and those who has been there longer than teh ASOT XXL.. doesnt find the new trance much interesting and they are the ones who were potential buyers.. while the newbies of trance that just dicovered ASOT.. and they KNOW.. they can get those tracks for free..
SOLUTION would be to STOP the access to all the tracks.. CLOSE DOWN p2p networks such as DC, Soulseek, Limewire and what not..
i HATE the possibility of download, i despice it..
BEFORE, u hadd to track down a CD u want, you hadd to search for it in different record stores, see if they could import it.. then u WAITED.. and waited.. constantly looking forward to see what this cool CD hadd for you to wait for.. and that was a great feeling.. which due to todays technology.. would never be the same..
and btw Benno, i have Rank 1 - Awakening on vinyl :p |

www.decks.de has a reasonable trance selection, and you don't need a credit card in order to get records from them. At least I don't (I'm in Holland, they're in Germany), dunno how it is for Norway though.
They're reliable as well, ordered off them quite a few times. |

yeah, but on a larger scale. you go to one of those and all they have is trance or trance-related. now what if all the tracks on beatport were there without the intervention of record labels? that's what i'm talking about.
but then again, this is an utopy and wouldn't solve that many problems. |

if you really love music (i'm talking as the producer) you shouldn't care about money
care about ppl really likes what you produced and give them the most amazing music they'll ever hear |

Yep, you can pay with bank transfer on Decks Records which sure is very reliable store and i have used quite a few times myself too. Same goes for Chemical and Dancegrooves. All great stores and no credit card needed. So "not having Visa" shouldn't be as big of a problem as you make of it. There are several other decent stores, mainly German, where you can buy without a credit card too but they have quite varying prices and shipping compared to the bigger stores. |

Yes everywhere it's like this. It's great that the internet exists.
At this moment the internet saves the music. Naturally it is not good
for the intellectual rights and for the companies, but I would not
be sitting here on sofa and drink champagne and speak to you without it.
I am famous because the world can find and hear my show
on the internet. Legal or illegal it does not matter. |

nice thread here, no bashing whatsoever, what a nice community we have here huh?! :D *grouphug* ;)
after 2 hours of reading i'm through the whole thread.
I'm one of those who download as a result of low offer (trance) in the stores. I spend a lot money on cd's (mostly other genres ofcourse), so if the offer was bigger here in Belgium, I'd certainly download less and buy more!
btw, Benno: Rank 1 - Symsonic was the first trance cd I bought =). Even my 57 old father loves the single symsonic =>. what a piece of art! :eyes: |

| i'm just curious about another thing. If u have bought a CD, and it's damaged (by yourself). Do u feel that u have the right to download it and burn it on a cd? |
