We need to allow the skills and qualifications that immigrants come with to be accepted in Canada. I completely agree with you on that point. I am appalled at the state of our immigration. So many qualified people come here every year and have no chance of competing for jobs even though they might actually be more qualified than Canadian standards require. It's these bull policies that need to be changed or something put in place to valuate these peoples’ qualifications so they can compete for jobs on a level playing field. |

i think that diversity has been pounded into the 30 and under crowd that our generation is much more tolerant than even our parents.... its working itself out in spite of government racism |

management in companies is still largely white males..."under 30-somethings" don't generally set hiring policies for big companies, for example.
yes, that is changing...but not quickly enough for the current generation...try telling someone that "in the near future" this will sort itself out. They want a job NOW (rightly so, no?).

you know what? i completely agree. 100%. only problem is ..thats NOT happening. so take off the rose coloured glasses. i agree that quota systems are not the best way of solving the problem. i want to know what you think would be (or would have been) the most effective way of evening out the workforce. feel free to go into as much detail as possible. for once i'd like to hear a solution rather then a complaint |
