Review: Boa-Redux Spadina Farewell w/ Sean Miller (Aug.28.05)

I’ll keep this (undeservedly) short as I need to shower and get to the airport...

Tonight was a little different. Usually arriving at the club and getting right into the party – tonight deserved a little more patience, a little more attention. After having so many good times at Boa in the past – I wanted to make sure that I soaked up the Boa Spadina experience; burn it into my memory.

Rockin’ it out my last time @ Boa Spadina was (as usual) a top-notch, fantastic event. Between greeting the regulars and loving that sound system - I shook the ass non-stop to Miller delivered tunes.

As the 2 hours I had allotted myself to say goodbye to Boa Spadina expired, "Dirty Filthy" pounded through the Dynacord (a fittingly appropriate last song). 4 AM - I said my farewells, saluted the temple of sound and departed.

Thank you to Rony, Jeff and the rest of the Boa staff (all of you, past and present!) for creating such a positive, safe and enjoyable environment. Way too many good times. :)

I will miss Boa Spadina – guaranteed.

Now - off to the ranch I go... Be well.

Nice review RJ... I wish I could have attended this with you all! :(

I hope to be there at the grand-re-opening though!

Where are the rest of the review... are you kids still there ripping it up! (I hope so!) :) :)

it's over. I was the last of the non-staff clubbers to leave, and this place will be missed sorely by me. The years were far too short for that space, but even in that time, I have countless memories I'll never forget, and will hold in among the fondest of my clubbing years.

Thanks to Jeff, and all the other TAs who made it out, I'll write a more thorough review once my head gets around describing the night.

Graham & I were there from just b4 2am, til about 5:15. A pretty busy main room, with plenty of room to dance (surprised this wasn't a ram-packed event :conf: ). Hadn't been to Boa to party since NYE really, minus a 30 min. visit in the spring to see the new DJ booth setup. Couldn't let Boa-Redux shut its doors without saying goodbye. Glad to see Rony & Justin- couldn't say hi to Sean as that booth is a bit too tall for my head. (Nice to know you were doing the night solo, as u so deserved). Jeff- hope to see you working hard again at the new venue soon, & glad to hear u won't be needing any visits to a 'professional' to help you deal with your loss or depression. ;)

Wish I coulda stayed longer, but alas- I had committed to work today. Speaking of, I really shoulda started work hours ago, but sleep prevailed. I better get my ass in there.... :nervous:

What a night of emotions.... Sean finished off this chapter with a flawlessly executed set. The people were out in full force for this, and energy was through the roof all night long. I'll try to think of a way to describe this night in detail and let it all sink in.

Wow.

Completely overwhelmed by the support and kind words from all of you.

Wish I could have been there for the last night!

Great job with this club you guys and I really look forward to what you will do in the (hopefully) near future!

im quite disappointed that i could not attend lastnight. unfortunately its VERY difficult for me to go to any party when i live borderline pickering/the hood with no wheels. i cant wait until im either back in the city or get myself a set of wheels

i do see good things to come though for Rony/boa & all associated with him. i will definitely be there for the opening night of boa-redux part II

This was a great night.
Sean Miller definately made quite a performace. This night was quite emotional for a lot of TA's...as it really started to hit me only after being there for a couple of hours. I have had great memories here...and this night was the ending to such a wonderful experience.

Jeff, I still remember the first time you had ever told me about Boa...feels like it was only yesturday. The first time you had ever taken me to Boa was one of the best parties I have ever been to. I just want to say Thank you.

This definatley cant be the end...Boa will be back...

and we TA's will all be shaking our asses to that mindblowing sound once again!! :happy2:

the only pic I have of this night...besides one more that is pretty much the exact same as this one.

Great seeing everyone that came out :)
