what does the crime rate have to do with mass transportation?

i can even answer for you: nothing. it is entirely two different things. mass transportation relieves traffic, helps the environment and is essential for continued growth of a city. crimes that do occur in mass trans systems usually happen when little or no other witnesses around.

there really is no convincing reasoning for atlanta not to have a better mass transportation system. the dark truth of the matter is, richers communities of northern atlanta voted down the move to extend the massive transportation system on fear the poorer people of southern atlanta might reach them and ruin their communities and lower property value. welcome to the dirty south.

EDIT:
I read that Bush has wisely decided to release oil from the federal petroleum reserve to help refiners affected by Hurricane Katrina. It probably not help drop the price much but it's better than nothing.

i would never take a bus in guatemala due to crime. i would never use mass transportatioin as a means of trasport here in the us for teh same reason.

and yes i know what u mean about the communities cobb denyed marta cause fear of crime which i doubt would happen but crime does happen insdie the public transport system specially on countires where crime is a problem. crime is a problem here.

Just as a side note... Gas next to my office just broke the $4.00 mark... It has risen $1.30 over the course of the day... I think I am going to go home and fill up 100 5 gallon gas cans and set up a "lemonaide" stand on the side of the road. Once we run out in this city, $40 a can. I will be yelling, "I'M RICH BITCH!!" by the end of the week!! Now all we need is for it to snow so we can be out of milk and toilet paper and this city will start to riot! Come to think of it, I need a new T.V.!

thats kinda what they do over here... there are so few gas stations around that guys will buy gas and then sell it out of 5gallon containers on the side of the road...

weird thinking that this is one of the most petrol abundant nations in the world but the line for gas might be a half mile long all day every day...

i need a nestle's crunch bar.. and i dont have one :(
