so here's my Armin story. after his set, he happened to be in the guv rocking it out to Sharam and out of nowhere approached me and said 'yo what up?!', i said 'not much, just shaking my ass a lil, haus is good'. and then he said 'wow right?!, how's yer piece, mine's good, how's yers?', and then i said 'mine's perf, but i gotta go'. |

I pulled out my Amsterdam flag-coloured glowies and waved them in front of him in the darkness and I coulda sworn he looked down at me and smiled...then again he coulda been smiling at Laura (:mad: damn chix, always getting my fave DJs' attention! :mad: ) :p |

well I know he NOTICED ME cuz he saw me dancing and pointed the camera guy in my direction ahahahahah THAS RIGHT!!! I was goin insane and then James Krupa who happend to be the camera man was taping me !! wooot!! AND THEN I decided to get up on the stage after the girl in the white skirt came down and i got a two thumbs up from Armin that was MORE than enuff interaction for me from him!!!

All the pointing, winking, and flirting with the crowd in the world doesn't compare to the way some DJ's can read a crowd, hype them up, then throw down a set that gets EVERYONE moving. I was watching Cox from behind the decks on stage at Decadence, and that is exactly what happened -- looking down on the crowd I could not see one person standing still for almost his entire set. And as you mentioned, Coxy's fans are not all about "he's hot" , "he's cute", "he smiled at me", etc.
No disrespect to Armin at all (I do think he is a great DJ), but I just feel those who like Cox (as well as many other DJs with less of a "he's my God" pop-idol status) like him/them for the right reason(s). To me, that - for some reason - makes me respect Armin a bit less. Probably because I see him as becoming a bit of a sellout by focusing more on his public image and marketability.
Guess that's why I never get winked, pointed, or smiled at...???? |
