I'm not the kind of guy to ask for help from the Board, but I'm totally in the dark on this one.
Story goes, I was looking for a new suit while I was on vacation in California, but every place I went to didn't have a suit that fit me. I'm a tallish/skinny guy and as such I need a 34/35 Regular suit. Problem is, every place I visited only went down to 36 Regular.
Does anyone know of a place where that carries size 34/35 Regular suits? Or just any good tailors/stores that I could call? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Price range: $300-600 (two-piece suit)

| 34 is an odd size. You likely won't find it unless you go designer. I'd recommend that you go with a 36 tailored down... it's a pretty heafty drop but a good tailor can pull it off and it will be a lot cheaper then a designer. Either that or custom order one, however, if you need a suit quickly that will not help. |

Four suits in solid, all-seasoned fabrics - navy, charcoal, medium blue, medium grey are the staple of a business wardrobe.
Start with navy - work from there. |

No, I don't need it quickly, I've got another suit in the closet, but it's just getting... old. I was actually thinkin of getting a 36 and then getting it tailored, but it would have to undergo heavy tailoring and a probably as a result would not be as nice as something that fit more closely off the rack. Not to mention the $100+ of tailoring it would take to transform a 36 to fit me. I would probably just get a custom suit in that case, I was just seeing if there were some alternatives (ie: a store selling suits my size).
Moral, do you know of any good suit places in Toronto that I could call? (I'll probably just run through the yellow pages when I get home, tho) |

I usually go to a place called Susman's in Arthur. It's a bit of a drive from TO but it's a nice drive and the place is huge! I have to have all my suits customed because there is a 10 inch difference between my shoulders and waist. They can usually hook me up within a week or two. Their prices are better then anywhere in Toronto for quality suits.
I've also bought custom from a tailor out of Hong Kong called Maxwell's. They come to Toronto every couple of months and set up shop in a downtown hotel to take measurments and let you pick fabrics and colours. You can get two custom fitted 100% wool suits from them for about $800. I'll let you know when I get word that their coming back.
I've never bought a suit in TDot. |

Anything outside of TO is no good tho, because I don't have a car.

I'd suggest going with a 3 piece. The price difference isn't all that much - plus adding a vest steps up the formality of the suit big time. |

I agree, I was actually looking at a three-piece in the above mentioned style/cut but it was size 36! But right now I'm prioritzing correct sizing over a vest. |

I agree with RJ, step it up to a 3-piece suit.
I've got a 2-piece and a 3-piece, and I get measurably better responses when I wear the 3-piece suit, people definitely do notice things like that.
I love wearing suits. |
