what you are unclear about is your own feeling for attraction. you can't help your feelings for attraction nor can you help if you don't feel attracted. what i'm saying is that attraction is based on the quality of the genes. your feelings of attraction are brought by evolutionary process' to procreate with the best available gene's. you are not past that, no one is. does that make more sense? |
i know where my feelings of attraction come from. it has nothing to do with procreation because i don't even want kids. i don't choose who i want to be with by analyzing who will make the best kids with me... i choose who i want to be with by how they make me feel and how i feel about them. i'm not trying to say i'm above or better than anyone else. i just do things differently than what society teaches us to do... that might not work for everyone but it works great for me. everyone is different!
what can i say... i'm a sucka for love. :p |

i read in a book someone gave to me (hehe) that love needs to actually be a choice. for example, when you meet a special someone and you find yourself acting like a fool and all giddy with that dumb smile, walking over hot coals to be with them, that's not really love, because it's like you don't have a choice. you are just naturally acting on instincts from the strong attraction to that person.
true love actually starts when the honeymoon phase dies and you are in reality with that person. you chose to stay even though it got "boring". you chose to still be romantic, to be there for them, etc. i think that makes sense.
but i still say that i love craig because that's the only word i can think of to properly communicate my feelings for him. i'm not too worried about when the honeymoon phase dies though. i'm pretty good at keeping things alive...it's my specialty in relationships. having sex in public places is the key to keeping an old relationship feel like new.:stongue: no but you get my point... |

you are well educated. this is exactly what i'm talking about. i have a feeling which book you read but i'll keep my mouth shut unless you want to say it.
Lucid: remember i'm not argueing with you, just having you questing yourself. which is a good thing! in that regard:
what is your definition of love? please do not describe a verb with other verb's :( I also understand your undesire to procreate, i once felt the same way. I'm not asking you to think of your attraction as i put it. infact almost all of what i have posted is a far deeper subconscious. when you say, "i dont know how it happened, it just did, it was natural". this is the exact frame of mind i am refering to. next time you find yourself attracted to a guy, i want you to write 10 things that you found attractive. PM and i'll try my best to show you what i speak of :) |
