So are you actually Jewish?
I'm only asking this cause you told me that you were from Israel, so I assumed that you were Jewish, and thus couldn't realy understand why you would wear a CCCP shirt if you were from Israel (I have a pet peeve of non-Russkis wearing the USSR shirts). But if your background is Russian then you had every right to wear it. |

Nope, not a drop of Jewish blood in my bloodline. My parents were just there for some reason and BAM, I was conceived. It's really ed up. Pisses most Canadian Jews off that I speak better Hebrew than they do :haha:. |

Thanks for pointing out an obvious fact ;). I was referring to the Canadian Jews who went to Hebrew school as children and can't catch the pronounciations etc you would only get if you were immersed in the language or very linguistic. |

See how absurd this looks from the other end of the conversation? |

First, it wasn't a country. (I know you already know this, but I felt like being a smartass anyway)
Second, I'm well aware USSR wasn't just composed of Russia.
Third, I don't mind people who were part of USSR wearing it, but when I see a Canadian or an American or something wearing that, it just drives me up the wall. Communism wasn't and isn't 'cool' - I see it as a person diminishing the seriousness of what was happening during USSR. I'd never wear a Che Guevara shirt - because then instead of being a revolutionary, he becomes some pop icon on the level of Blink 182. |

OK so how then is it ok for a "russian" to wear it if your opinion is that the whole idea of the USSR is bad?
Shouldnt you be saying that no one should be wearing it? Whats the diff if a russian wears it because its cool or a canadian?
Isnt that called racism? |
