Haha, you gotta be good ;-) LOL ... as for me, I could have easily had another 1000 rank points if I wasnt so lazy and preoccupied with other stuff. I have like 10 CDs that I have to add to Discogs database ... if you are patient, and have good memory and remember the layout of Discogs when browsing, you shouldn't have much of a problem submitting releases ....
Here's a Discogs release that had a lot of work went into it - but he's not complaining:

| It's convenient for looking through a label's catalog or seeing if something actually exists, or when something was released. That's not a lot, but I do a lot of it. It shares some of the unreliability of wikipedia, though. |

I disagree. For the most part, when many of Oggers are rank-crazy, and when 10-20-60 ot whatever people have the same release, you'd be sure they'd check and update it accordingly to gather as much rank as possible. In most cases. For the ones owned exclusively by one person or two, yes, there could be some issues, but veteran oggers are not going to lie in submissions. Besides, when someone else challenges the submission, 'release history' will say everything about all the edits and changes done. CD information does not lie, and some oggers are so into their stuff, they can find all kinds of additional from artist websites. No conspiracies, no controversy, just plain CD information. Not a good comparison to Wikipedia. |

| I love Discogs, but I'm a bit confused about how the new submission limit thing works. Yesterday I was still under my limit but today I'm using 100% of my limit even though nothing happened in between. The number seems to be changing randomly. |

I used to like discogs; now it's become messy. They're not consistent with the "Remix" and "Remix, producer [Additional]" stuff. It screws whole profiles of artists. Remixes are now listed between "Appears on"-tracks and vice versa :(
I hope this gets sorted someday. |

i don't think "oggers" care as much about rank as you make it sound, but i see your point... |

| They really need to fix their submit system, like now you can submitt a cd single as cd maxi - single, or cd-maxi whatever. You can update something all day long but in the end its not complete anyway... |

Here's my final verdict - Discogs, forums promarily are filled with a bunch of elitist douchbags who have little respect or udnerstanding of most electronic music if its not of certain few genres within the few specific years. They have such a strong feeling against music like euro house, trance, disco, etc. considering some of the stuff as "low common denominator" style of music or inferior. Other than the use of the database, the use of forums is not recommended, avoid using the main forums especially ... |
