yeah so...i was really bored last night. kinda checked out early. holden started out strong, but as soon as he hit "come to me" i was done. lots of ass kicking bass, and lots of sick tunes, but i don't know...overall a boring night.
ESPECIALLY with Lavelle's drunk ass ing up all the time, that was the most annoying . one trainwreck is bad enough...but he had what? 4, 5? maybe more. whatever...i liked that 2nd track into holden's set....that had me dancing the most. |

Well you guys pretty much covered it, so I'll just say it was excellent meeting those of you I hadn't before, and excellent to see ya'll that I have! And those of you that I never actually "met" but saw, I'm sure we'll meet again!;)

| heheh Hey Clovis.......everyone is slowly seeing the light!! LOL ahhh man what a ing night! it was good seeing everyone out that night...always makes the clubbing more enjoyable! Got in and Justin and John were throwing down some nice house ch00ns! wehnt out for a few smokes and Levelle got on! went to check him out...and right when i get inside i hear on of my Fav tracks Soulwax - E talking.....and incase anyone wants to know its the (Soulwax Nite version) rmx...anyway....then suddenly i hear the worst trainwreck EVER! Jesus i agree he played some Doooope tunes....but honestly he IS the worst DJ i have ever seen live! i swear i thought maybe he had been mixing for a month with the performance i was seeing! anyway then went out for a smoke....then i dont remember who but came out and said "duuude holden is coming on" boom ran right in and found everyone on the dance floor! this was the first time at Avalon that i didnt go upstairs...not even once! annnnd when holden came on....i didnt leave the room once.....so i didnt miss a in SECOND of holden! and wooooow out of the 4 times i have seen him already.....that was the best set i had heard! not only have i seen his name getting more familiar each time he's in LA....but like someone said...sometimes he wasnt the best mixer...but he as a DJ is becoming AMAZING! after he finished his set...it was time for me to finally have a well desirved cig! ahhhhhh was chatting with a few TA's then Holden comes thru the smokin patio and all of us started yelling HOLDEEEEN!! haha mofo was wasted too but he still spun a siiick set...unlike **caugh** Lavelle **caugh** anyway....looks like a great night was had by all....and im glad everyone is starting to like this kind of music. anyway...should get back to work now!! Bye everyone :) |

We got to Avalon around 9:50pm and there was only a few people there, we found out quickly by talking to the bouncer that there was a concert going on inside and that they will only begin to let people in after 11pm, damm! plus it started to rain.
Around 10:45pm people started to line up in, a bunch of people started to cut the line getting people piss off, the tension was building after 1 hour waiting in the rain we got inside.
Justin & John Do were spinning they did a really good job I thought starting really slow and building up their set for the headlines.
Then James Lavelle was on the deck, man he was such a disappointment. I agree with the other review he had a good track selection but he could not make his set gel together and I did not know he was drunk I guess it explain everything.
When Holden got on the desk the crowd went crazy, his style is not my cup of tea (constant baseline make it very boring to me) but I can see why people like him because his mixing was flawless.
As far as Afterhour Power, I have know clue how Darey was cause I end up spending the whole afterhour in the upstairs room.
