WOW!!!! Why did he only play for 2 hours? His set was so amazing, it felt like it went by in 30 minutes or less. Such sick, mind- tunes. He played the Britney Spears song, but the boring remix of it. I like the remix with the highpitched/hypnotic bells. Oh well, atleast he played it. I need more Holden!!! Time to listen to that set that NeroFlash posted!! :D
Lavelle trainwrecked on almost every mix, but his track selection was ROCKIN!!!! I think he was wasted. He was waving a vodka bottle around to everyone. How annoying. |

please note that the comment above was pure sarcasm. it's just that it makes me sad to hear that people are railing at big venues of this magnitude... who does the bookings?? is it just about packing a club and making money, or IS IT STILL ABOUT THE MUSIC? sad to say it might have never been... :confused: |

Did it ever cross your mind that maybe whoever booked Lavelle did not know he was going to get retarded drunk and play even worse than a Tiesto in Concert. Because he has actually spun okay sets in the past...but last night was retarded. He blew out all four monitors right before Holden got on, and Avalon's sound guy told me himself he had to run and quickly replace them because a drunk Lavelle maxed the gain on them with one twist of a knob.
Holden was incredible though and managed to be drinking alot, chug Jack like a champ and still pull off some amazing mixes. TOP notch programming and mixing by Holden...
Oh yeah one more thing:
AFTERHOUR POWER
Throwing a giant black curtain in front of an internationally known DJ while thewir last track is playing is a god damn joke. But apparently the people at Avalon think Afterhour power is the center of the universe... |

| posted my review on i got rapped by bass and i loved it which was started by hotdogwater and what a great title thread i might add, and yes, that was rude of avalon to cut holden's last song that way with the moving of the crowd and the black curtain!!! it was so sad to see him go and he should have spun way more than 2 hours!!!! |

Interesting night to say the least, but I still managed to have an awesome time. James Lavelle was probably the worst DJ i've heard. I felt physical pain everytime he touched a record, it was disgusting.
Holden, however, was the ing man! Ever since I listened to the first track on Balance 005, I knew this guy had to be some sort of musical genius, he seriously is out of this world. Last night he played tune after ing tune. I nearly died when he played Nathan Fake - The Sky Was Pink, that song was inspired by ing gods.
Haha, oh man. ing the afterhour party... What the are they thinking?!
I'm pretty much over trance, nothing new anymore, it all sounds the same to me. Pure cheese imo.
