ing right. It's about time. Every (quality) dj should be given enough time in the limelight however this list has been in existence since what the late 1990s? Considering there are a lot MORE djs than years that the list has been in actual existence does it not make sense to grant those that have a huge amount of influence in their respective scenes a certain amount of respect? (ie num 1 dj? Even though it may not mean a lot to us or those "true' conosur's?). Bottom line, it's a matter of taste...don't like the list? Don't ing bitch about it. Simple. For some of us however it's a matter of taste and experience (pardon the pun), which is also a HUGE influence even when looked at soley tastewise. Meh...just live with it and stop bitching. I didn't like the fact that Tiesto was voted # 1 three years in a row but I lived with it. He should've been voted once for the first year and then that was it. Meh. All I can say is I am happy with this year's result. CONGRATS PAUL.
P.S I agree w Marco V not being in the top 10...WTF IS UP WITH THAT?! Marco V should be in the freaking top 5 at least!;) |

I do not think that PVD did anything to warrant him winning this, but the same can be said the second time Tiesto won it.
Regardless, he deserved to win this at least once for what he's accomplished. Congrats to him... I just hope he doesnt become the next #1 whipping boy because of it.
I would have liked to see Ferry a bit higher, but its ok. |

First off, a DJ is there to play music and to make you dance, not to entertain you like a clown. While crowd interaction does create a more memorable experience, it has nothing to do with how good a DJ actually is. And it shouldn't. I could care less how many times a DJ waves and smiles at the crowd if his mixing/track selection/talent is horrible. It's about the music, so they should focus on that.
Second, PR/Marketing has nothing to do with a DJ's talent. That's all about "exposure" and "promotion", but as we've seen this year a CD release doesn't help at all. Some of the more notable CD releases this year didn't help the DJ's at all in this poll. |
When are people going to start understanding that this has nothing to do with SKILLS but rather POPULARITY? and the two are not equal? |

Sarah are you sure about this, because PVD wasn't have a stellar year production wise and his cd was so-so. His haircut was improved true. And don't forget about ATB his skills are top notch. Ajkl;asdjfaksld;jfasklj
