When are people going to start understanding that this has nothing to do with SKILLS but rather POPULARITY? and the two are not equal?

I think most people here understand that it's all about popularity...just a few rookies here and there who actually think this list has something to do with skill.

bigUPS Paul Van Dyk .. nice to see that people are finally giving him the recognition that he long deserves. IMHO still and has always been my #1 and favourite DJ. A man with a long history in helping to forge this style of music and the scene in general. Co-responsible for global movements like the Love Parade, helping to unite the masses and not to mention his countless efforts working with various charities around the world in times of need.

GO PAUL ! :D

He has.

PVD hasnt done much this year to prove his number one status but he has proved it over the years and years hes been around, so this is just a cherry on top for him congrats to him. but these rankings dont mean , and yet again the trance sound covers more of the top 5. Trance will always dominate the edm scene.

well maybe the trance addict top 100 should become an annual thing. I bet it would start to gain a lot of recognition as well too.

I think it's Eddie Halliwell's web site or Danny Howell's not sure which one...who mentions his placing on the tranceaddict poll.

C'mon bro, there really is NO WAY he's top 5 :wtf: :D

Ok fine. Top 10 at the very least. :P

As for PvD not deserving it this year fine. He didn't do much this year other than PoD but I think they it's warranted for all of the years he's been in the scene. It's a combined reward for everything. Same reason Tiesto got it the first time around (NOT the 2nd and 3rd :nervous: )

Respect for not being biased enough to say it was a good PVD year when being a big PVD fan.
