P.S. Some bastard knocked off my driver side mirror.

If you're reading this and you side swiped a silver sedan (i dont expect you to remember make and model) on Blackhawk St. by Zentra then I hope you rot in hell, ass. (preferably after PM'ing me to find out where you can mail me a check)

haha yea i saw the txt you sent to Rob. :D

Rob and i wanted to make it to Zentra for Mike's set, but with all the running around we did over the weekend and the bad weather, we decided to just make it a simple night and only do Vision.

Ok, so looking back on the evening:

At this point, I choose to simply not make comments on the opening DJ. He's taken enough in this thread, and it would honestly just be too hard at this point for me to make what would sound like a logical and fair appraisel of his performance on Saturday. When it comes down to it, no matter how you slice it, he opened for G&D, and I didn't.

As far as G&D, I was actually really kind of expecting to not really dig their set. Not that I don't enjoy them usually, I just didn't think I'd be in the mood for what they were going to drop, and they totally suprised me and kicked ass.

First off, even though their tracklisting was all over the place, they played a ton of tracks I liked. The new G&D tunes sounded, for the most part, awesome. It's always great to see those guys stage mannerisms, and watching Dave on stage is just fun.

For the most part, the mixing was spot on, there were only two (And they were very specific spots) where I thought the mixes were rough. It obviously wasn't that the tracks weren't matched or anything, but simply where they chose to mix out of tracks, and layering melodies that just weren't compatible. But like I said, this only happened twice, and they were no where near trainwrecks, in fact, most people probably didn't notice at all.

And the ONLY other criticism I have of the performance was the mix from Big Top - Sub into Jean Michael Jean (I think) - Unknown (Gabriel & Dresden Bootleg). Sub is just a hard track to drop because it can change up the pace of a set in an instant, and I think they just tried to kick it up too quick afterwards.

But on the whole, I say, great set. That was probably the most fun I've had out at Vision in a while, and I can't really remember the last time I enjoyed just the music alone as much as I did on Saturday, which is strange especially since my current inclination is towards house.

Yuris where's the pics you lazy bastard! :whip: :whip: :whip:

Edit: Oh yeah, Vision lockers = Lose. Took $4 just to find one that worked :(

Edit 2: And does anyone know what track they played that was a remix of a Cure song? That, was sick...

Yea, we got there early - 11:00 and left early a little before 3:00. I just wasn't really into the night. I wasn't liking Infiniti's set at all and having to listen to that for like 2 hours just put a damper on the night for me. I wasn't on the 2nd floor, we were by the bar downstairs by the stage most of the night. I wanted to go up to the Penthouse but when we started to go up there around 12:00 the guy said they weren't starting up there until 1:00 or so and didn't make it back up there. Sounds like you guys had fun though! Nice to see everyone else!

I got to Vision ridiculously late after watching Wrestlemania VII during pregame and hitting a couple bars, but great to see a lot of the crew there and I have to agree that G&D's set was even better than expected. The mixing was done quite well, especially considering the variety of tracks. Hope to see everyone again for Markus in a few weeks if not sooner.

i had a great time. i had to admit though that i had very high expectations and at times felt a little bored. After been at Paul Van Dyk I guess I was ready for harder less melodic music. I'm not sure but regardless they were great

by the way i want to see blank and jones and cosmic gate back. Pure do something about this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like your set. I can't remember if I heard your music b4 but for us the music was already good when we got there(1130 or so). Towards the end though I felt that the music was a little diferent not really my taste. I would like to hear more of your music to have an idea of your style(not like some of my friends which were giving opinions left and right after listening to you for 5 minutes. Anyway great times...
