I for one, am going to make it my mission, to get stoned as hell with Dave Dresden on December 10th (Or, technically, December 11th), it's going to be a tough task, but meh, I'm up for the challenge... :wtf: |

Inphinity, usually with the MD recorder, you could use the line out to your computer line in and just use soundforge or something similar to record on to your computer, then you can save with whatever compression, whether mp3, wav etc.
I couldn't make it up to G&D, but hope everything went well, i was DJing in indy, otherwise i would be there every week.

hah, is everyone else still recovering from the weekend? :disbelief
i had a great night even though i was pretty exhausted from being out on friday night. this was the 3rd time i've seen G&D and it was their best set so far... Dave and Josh rocked it... they were all over the place, some tracks i remember, in no particular order:
Departure - Without You Near (they started their set with this)
Luke Dzierzek - Echo vs BT - Fibonacci Sequence (Ricky Ryan edit)
Josh Gabriel - Alive
Armin Van Buuren and G&D - Zocalo
G&D - Arcadia (mashup with vocals from JFOS ft. Claire - Do What You Want)
Rachael Starr - Till There Was You (G&D 12-Step Remix)
G&D feat Molly - Tracking Treasure Down
The Police - S.O.S. (Sander Van Doorn remix)
Deep Dish - Say Hello (Angello & Ingrosso Remix)
G&D - My Blue Heart (G&D Chocolate Poptart Dub)
Madonna - Hung Up (S.D.P.S. Extended Dub Mix)
Bigtop - Sub
DJ Tiesto - UR (Junkie XL remix)
Nicol Sponberg - Resurrection (G&D remix)
Motorcycle - Around You (G&D remix) [1st encore]
Freeform Five - No More Conversations (Mylo Remix) [2nd encore]
ok, yeah... that's all i can remember for now. no As The Rush Comes or Beautiful Things, THANK GOD!! they played a lot of new stuff too that i didn't recognize (new tracks from their new artist album i'm assuming), but lots of it sounded pretty sick. there was only one point during their set when i got bored, and that was when they threw down a few harder trance tunes.
Rob and i chilled on the 2nd floor balcony over the stage pretty much the entire night, just watching Josh and Dave do their thing... Josh was working Ableton and Dave was working the mixer. i don't think they used any CDs all night, maybe 1 or 2.
Inphinity was horrid... now that i've seen him and i can make a valid opinion, i stand by every comment made about him in this thread. he might charge money for his mixes but i would rather pay money to never hear him spin again... my ears bled.
it was great to see lots of TAs out!! Chris, Tony, Christen (you disappeared! did you take off early?), Yuris (let's see the pics!!), Seneca, Andy, drEamer - hope you all had a great time... and it was nice to meet some new faces - Topher and Ben B - sorry i didn't get to talk to you guys more, when it's loud music vs Myra's social skills, loud music usually wins... i'll see you guys @ Markus though!
Dennis, Neile - were you guys there?
security was pretty thin all night... lots of people crawled up onto the stage to either dance or try to talk to Josh and Dave. this one girl got up there and was trying to talk to Dave over the mixer, and he finally just backed away and tried to shoo her away. i lol'd.
ok, enough from me... definitely a fun night... i Dave Dresden!!

Well after it all I wasn't even gonna go, my friend had to work and I didn't want to drive by myself, then Friday night he said he'd go cuz work told him he didn't need to come in, so we went out to celebrate Friday and I got sick! 102 fever and I'm just now getting over it, sorry guys, I'll be there for Schulz for sure, even if I have to have an ambulance ready for stand by.
Sounds like a pretty good night, I agree with you that Inphinity's mixing might not be all there but I must say if you have known him prior to this - his tracklisting has improved greatly, so it's not all bad in the end - you could've been listening to EURO... ohh god help us that would not have been good. |

We were for some of it.
And beside that, playing the top 3 tracks from the "Top Ten" list for every genre they sell on beatport is still not a great "style." |

I'm sure there's an award for the most backhanded compliment ever. This one's a title contender.
Great to see all the TA's out! :)
I was at Zentra till 2 am for Mike's set. Then hopped over to Vision to catch the rest of G&D. Really liked Mike's set, it started off pretty mellow and understated for the first half hour and then it started to peak more. But I got engrossed in a conversation about shoes and urban planning, so the last 30-40 minutes I was completely oblivious to the music just because my simple simian mind has trouble processing both at the same time.
I had a good time, but G&D's kind of sound is something that I have been gravitating away from for the past few months, so I suppose I didn't necessarily enjoy them as much as I did in June although I do think that their track selection this time around was much better. Enough vocal tracks, but just as many tracks with driving bass lines. I immediately thought of Lucid when they played Bigtop - Sub.
I think they definitely managed to carve out quite a following in Chicago in a mere span of a little over a year. You could see a tumbleweed roll across the dance floor at their September 2004 show at Vision and it wasn't because of their music, its that a lot of people were simply unaware of who they were and "Bloom" didn't even sink in into the people's heads yet given that it was released 2-3 weeks prior to that show.
Saturday night? Raucous.
I took a bunch of pictures and 2-3 videos - will post them up as soon as I quit being lazy. (might be a while =O )
Tony, some ladies were texting me on Sunday about you...
