Well if you all really want to tag all Americans as arrogant I can help you trace this back to the foreign policies of both exceptionalism and isolationism throughout the War of 1812 up until the late 19th Century. When Mahanian principles were put into place in the early 1890s and Richard Olney issued his note on July 20, 1895, reaffirming the United States' policies behind the Monroe Doctrine in a conflict with the British over Venezuela in the same year, one could trace the inferred United States 'arrogance' pretty accurately back to this point. So, if you want to hate on the United States, hate on the Secretary of State under Grover Cleveland. Don't hate on us :p |
Nice post and accurate, however, I would be more inclined to believe that cold war education policies are a bigger factor with the present US population then the issolationist polies of the 1890, which ended with the first world war and related only to foriegn policy. That said, I don't hate any Americans (besides this guy from Chicago I met 10 years ago but that's 'cause he was a dick, nothing to do with nationality). It's hard to hate anyone if you make an attempt to understand them. |

CDMA = No lil chip, just like programmed or built in compatibility or something..
Preeetttyy much everywhere but north america uses GSM, much easier to roam internationally.. |
hooooH? It doesn't matter at all what chip you use except you leave the home region you are living in. So you can get and send SMS and talk to the person on the line anyway. There are many more standards out there. Japanese guys and gals are the most advanced as they use UMTS by standard. In Europe its GSM and GPRS. GPRS is standard now (faster than GSM).
I myself have a triband cell-phone. That helps almost everywhere (except in Brazil and Japan). |
