Here is an amazing concept.. try to grasp it...
You go to these events to enjoy and dance to the music the DJ provides.. not his aesthetically pleasing appearance beside the dancefloor.
It might really change your whole appreciation of the scene ;) |
Quite the opposite actually...
I go to see DJs perform live for the experience of seeing the DJ performing the tracks I hear at home and at trance parties every other weekend. I can listen to the livesets any time I want... but paying 40$ to go to the concert is about more than that :disbelief |

In fact, that was the only DJ that i payed 40 $ to see and got me really disapointed!
In fact G&D, Markus Schulz trio cost only 30 $ to see and have a BLAST of FUN ! =))) |

whats there to see? Tijs bopping his head up and down and doing the christ pose? theres no performance, its not a concert. youre just there to dance to the music. everything else is secondary. thats what people dont get and thats what caused the whole Superstar DJ bull and whats eventually gonna destroy the scene |

I think the dj has the ability to pump up the crowd with his body language...I remember the first live set I ever saw. Armin in Guvernment, Toronto. His body language was pointing toward the fact he was really into the music and the set, and that put the rest of us in the mood. He would also acknowledge a bunch of people as they were dancing! I thought that was UBER Cool. Also PVD, instead of going to the back to chat with friends, he would take the multitude of random items handed up to him by the closest people dancing (credit cards, bank cards, tickets, BALLOONS???? etc. ) and autograph them! That was really cool as well. At one point he came down and autographed my buddies' tshirt!!!!
That's why I go to shows, to get that kind of interaction. |

i also completely disagree, its a combination of the music and the dj. its not a "performance" in the typical sense but the reason i go and see armin every single time is because of his interaction with the crowd. When he dances or smiles at the crowd and gets into the music, thats all part of it, at least part of why i go to see him. |

I only have vids, but unless i can connect my phone to a usb and drag em on my computer, no way. I'm not gonna pay to upload them on a sprint server :p I'd have to re-enact the plan which is like $15/mos. |

I'm not trying to slag people who like Tiesto, to each his own tastes I suppose, but he really doesn't have much talent. Anyone who's ever been a bedroom DJ knows that it takes no skill to mix just as well as Tiesto. And his track selection is nothing special, he just plays the popular trance of the day in an uninspiring fashion, so don't give me crap about setbuilding or musicality or anything, because he sucks at that too. |
well said
tiesto for 50$ is a complete waste of money unless you're there to see him throw his hands in the air |
