Singapore's government hanged an Australian man for drug trafficking early Friday, hours after making an exception to prison policy by letting the condemned man's mother hold her son's hand one last time.

What a ing throw-back dark age hole! There's no crime, short of murder, rape or other violent crime that deserves such punishment. Let alone such brutal ing execution BY HANGING!

My state has capital punishment - PA, so do many states. Don't get me wrong - I SUPPORT DEATH PENALTY, WHEN APPLICABLE. As example, tell me if this local does not deserve to die: he comes home and takes his 3 months old crying baby by his feet and smashes his head up against the wall. If you don't think a scumbag like that deserves to die - you're seriously ed. But drug trafficking? Ok, life sentence - understood. Beating, understood. Hanging? NOPE.
Here's another example: Local 15 year old girl is brutally raped, stabbed and then choked to death. Then, her body is dumped into dumpster and set on fire to destroy evidence. The beast who did it is a prior registered sex offender. Now, imagine this is your daughter... Please, do tell me, would you want to buy him flowers or a beer? |

Punishment has to fit the crime. If I punch someone in the face and get the death penalty for it, that is simply unjustified. |

| but its not like he didn't know having a pound of heroin would get him executed if he got caught. I think it's wrong to have a deathpenalty for that sort of thing, but i dont feel like this individual had some sort of injustice done to him. |

you learn to live with it. it's not that no-one told him singapore had the death penalty for drug trafficking, he knew it and he took the risk.
he hanged not because of singapore having the death penalty for drug trafficking. bottomline is, he hanged because he got caught. |
