the losses are estimated between 10,000,000 and 40,000,000. even if we take the most modest estimate, 10 million people, it is still 5 times more than all the holocaust victims, and 2.5 times more than all German casualties. USSR did pay the highest price. and hence we, more than any other country (after 1991 "we" is several countries, but it doesn't matter), can say that it was our grapdfathers who decided the fate of war. maybe it's nationalistic and presumtious, but it is well deserved by all the deaths. |

oh yeah what a victory for you it must've been a HUGE chunk of the population killed, partially by your own soldiers. Whoop ti doo. How was Stalin any different from Hitler again? And idiot, someone losing a large part of troops doesn't mean they "paid a heavy" price of "contributed more to winning the war". That's like saying North Vietnamese who lost about 900,000 lives and 400,000 South Vietnamese in the war contributed more and paid a heavier price. |
