I read some of the pages here...
Respect to Jocker! Terrific points, I agree completely, and I even made the same points in the Political forum (although that thread was about Iran).
A general observation: it's pretty sad to see how Russians always fight with each other, even in online forums :( There is no unity or sticking with each other like other nations... |

you see how one person, namely Lepanto, being born and raised in Russia, makes huge generalizations and assumptions, calls all Russians "jerkoff scumbags", and you understand that he is not your compatrior or the person, who shares the same origins, but rather a retarded head. if he would be of any other nation, i am sure, people from that nation would feel the same way about him too. |

And ofcourse we started all those wars. Last time I checked FDR didn't kill 20 million of his own citizens, now did he? This is where you stop talking since you never lived in the actuall USSR you can't possibly have enough experience with the people there and their mentality. And, no, your avg Brighton Beach babushka doesn't count. |
I dont have to be born in the USSR to know the mentality, I have plenty of friends' parents who lived there and express their hatred to the USSR. But your opinion is obviously biast and you cant see anything from 2 sides. I can keep talking all I want because I can actually debate about this subject, you can just shout and yell about 1 thing - youre knowledge of history is too limited to pose a decent debate. |

how can you say such a preposterous thing!!! he lived in USSR up until he was 5 y.o.! that's quite an extensive experience to say such things about the whole nation, right? i mean, you judge about the world based on your experiences when you were 5 y.o., right?
 :stongue: :stongue: :stongue: |

Lepanto, if you really knew russian culture, you would know that any Russian would punch you in the face without any hesitation for talking as much as you do :clown:
Don't forget, you're on the internet as well, and you, Mr. (or is it Ms.?) hypocrite, are threatening too, so try and persuade me that you would keep talking like that in real life. |

so what do you call George W. Bush? what would you say about JFK, who sent troops to Vietnam? What would you say about american intelligence who sponsored Osama and others with weapons during war in Afghanistan (vs. USSR, of course) - the same people who were later accused of being America's #1 enemies? what do you call Truman, who ordered to kill 100,000 civilians in Hiroshima/Nagasaki? what do you call American democracy, which only 40 years ago treated blacks as cattle? which slaughtered the majority of Native Americans and then gathered and contained the rest in "reservations" - a nice word for concentration camps?
history is a bitch, who is ed by the winners. They portray Hiroshima bombings as a good deed, then they portray "commies" as halfhuman aboriginals. they portray the madness in Iraq as "Operation Iraqi Freedom", then they say that the Russians should stop the war in Chechnya - which is, oh , a part of Russia (imagine a rebellion in Alaska, would anyone dare to tell America how to deal with it?).
Yes, undoubtedly, Stalin was a cruel dictator. But so was Peter the Great. It's strange how nobody ever talks about horrific repressions of those times, but rather portray Peter I as the greatest ruler of Russia.
And Lenin. Yes, there was injustice and there was manslaughter. But if it were not for the revolution, would your parents get great and FREE education, which, I am sure, they are proud of (on par with top american schools - for free) and FREE medical treatment?
stop believing everything the propaganda tells you, open your eyes, and see for yourself: America has never been a stain-free democratic utopia (and never will be), and Russia (and USSR in particular) is not just one big bloodbath. There were both good and bad things, but it's just unfair to see only one side of things. |
dont you anti americans have anything more original to say than the same regurgitated arguments about george bush, government sponsored wars and other so-called injustices that's been regurgitated and stuffed down our rectums over and over and over and over again?
first off explain what the united states could've done instead of dropping the bombs? negotiate? talk? use words?...my ass...if they were to send a massive land assault in japan far more civilians, japanese soldiers AND american soldiers would've been killed...its common sense.
and yes communists are halfhuman dogs...they torture, censor anybody who oppose them...just ask China and how their communist government handled the tianenmen square protests with absolute brutality...go ask the cubans how they enjoy living in a prison that is Cuba with the only way leaving being floating a raft thousands of miles to reach the shores of florida
it sickens me at the amount of elitist europeans on here talking down on america about oh how we're not this, how we're not that, how we think we're this but in fact we aren't that... that just the fact that we are the most powerful nation by far in the world you guys will always try to find something wrong with amerifcfa...claiming you're enlightened and that we're all brainswashed... you and have a nice day |
