why is this a gimmick?
the time it took for avb and his management to get the rights of all of these tracks, plus the time that it took to structure the set and to use ableton to mix and mash-up these tracks took a lot of time and effort if you ask me.
i don't like a lot of these tracks, but i think it's pretty impressive how armin is able to mix and loop all of these tracks using ableton - ableton is not easy software to learn or to use effectively.
why don't you try to put a mix together with 60+ tracks with ableton before you criticize it for being a "gimmick" |
I'll make a 60 track mix tonight. |

Why don't you try to be not be a phony elitist bitch who talks like she's on the cutting edge of dance music and super involved with the scene, but is really just a mid 30's professional desperately trying to cling to her childhood...
Grow up...

| intense . Why not just let the broadcast as he did previous years and not make a dollar out of it this year. Its a business first i suppose. I really dont see all the need for attacks though. |

They sure are. That one hit a little close to home?
Your phoniness and bull need to stop. When you realize you genuinely don't know about what a DJ or producer is doing beyond the fact that you find something they do pleasing to the ear, maybe you'll realize just how dumb a lot of your posts sound. |

| Yeh...I wonder why he didn't use vinyl or CDR's. |

I've never thought ctprincess' posts were all that mindblowingly awful. In fact, she shares a lot of the same viewpoints as I do (though I still like trance :D ) and I'm a TA dj (though not a good one at all). So I'm fine with ctprincess :)
And while I still don't agree about the pressing of this megamix to cd for purchase, I will say that I enjoyed it as I downloaded it today. The mixing is still insane. To those who are looking at this and saying "omg 50 second tracks teh suck!", it's a megamix, it's what it's meant to be. Just an overall look at what was popular this year. No, it won't spell the end of trance as we know it, the conventional set will not die. Quit worrying about it. |

And you are one step closer to being banned permantly.
Personal attacks will NOT be tolerated on this forum!
Now whilst i don't have much time for Armin myself presently i do realise how much work had to have gone into creating these CDs.
And so far in this thread you have only assumed he has used ableton to create these cd's, you dont have actual facts to prove it so why argue over a pointless issue?
By the way i am a DJ, i use vinyl, cd and also ableton.
I find all 3 help create more than just one record being played after another which is one of Ishkurs gripes with the industry.
So even if Armin did use ableton exclusivly to create these CD's then he has given himself some new knowledge, learnt a new skill, he has given himself yet another way of being able to present music to an audience and yes make some money out of it as well, after all he does have to make a living out of it after all. |

Alright, you know what, Neo is correct, and ctprincess is correct, I was in the wrong, and I do apoligize profusely for my personal attacks in this thread. They were uncalled for and do have no place here, especially in a forum where the topic is music discussion.
Kristin, I still respectfully disagree with you on the quality/effort it took to put this together, but my comments about you were completely childish and you didn't deserve them.
I realize this is most likely a meaningless gesture at this point, but whatever, i'll own up to my mistakes.
I'm sorry. |
