"Why don't you try to be not be a phony elitist bitch who talks like she's on the cutting edge of dance music and super involved with the scene, but is really just a mid 30's professional desperately trying to cling to her childhood..."
"Now go listen to your bull minimal tech god Hawtin while you ruminate on what your next useless post on TA is going to be..."

| Look its a BUISNESS. IF Armin wants to make money then fair play. He was the first DJ to broadcast such a megamix and last years was fantastic to be fair. Also the "ASOT histroy" mix was brilliant too. Im sure this will be just as good. Its a novelty but its prob the best mix u will get of all of the years big anthems. Id download it not buy it though! |

Wow... people coming out of the woodwork to support Armin on this... For the record, Armin doesn't own me, or the majority of people on this board (even some of the hypocrits who decide to run to his defense even though it's not what they truly believe).

I may be a joke, but that doesn't mean this compilation isn't one too... This isn't "art," this is an easy way for Armin and Armada to make a few bucks... If any of you think that it took a lot of effort and time to secure the rights to these tracks you're daft, it's an Armada release, all they had to do is ask and I'm sure the majority of labels/producers were jumping at the chance to have their tracks appear on a disc that will automatically sell thousands just because of the words "A State of Trance" and "Armin Van Buuren."
Think of it this way; If you're a connoisseur of fine coffee, Starbucks just isn't going to cut it for you, you want something with it's own unique flavor and effect. ASOT and Armin are the Starbucks of EDM, particularly Trance music, and this is their holiday gift pack sampler that has a little of everything in it, but no real substance what so ever.
And for the record, Armin wasn't the first DJ to broadcast or do a megamix... |
