I've Judge Jules around 6 or 7 times now and only on about 1 of them times he played a good set, he was ok at GCSS but ruined it again by mixing what appeared to be okish Hard trance and then bangs in some awful house track, and I've seen him do it too many times to be honest with you. In 1999 - and up to late summer 2000 he was a good DJ and he did play some good stuff, but he didn't half come out with some e after that really bad stuff. like I've heard a lot about this Qontact set but still I might check that out one day but I think I've seen a lot of him to know that he's not my cup of tea by all means everyone has a view right.
And Eddie Halliwell ing brilliant if you like your stuff hard check out his free cd with mixmag. |

He is a crap DJ, I've never seen him live but judging from all the sets I have he is utter
Live@Qontact is waay overated
Live@trance energy is ok in the beginning but after 4 tracks it goes down the drain
his other sets are some of the most horrible I've heard, even DJ jean sounds better
NO, gimme scot bond which I worship after his Amazing TE set this october :) |

For real, Jules is a crowd-pleaser, and what's wrong with that?
Many people really want to hear (and dance to) these tunes that you call "cheese." Nothing wrong with that. I like those tracks too!
Seems like you lot are some sort of aristocratic elitist snobs :toothless |
we all abondoned Oakenfold. nothing wrong with abandoning a dj if he begins to suck. I used to like jules, he used to have a nice sound to him.. now, last i heard he throws rap into his mixes??? I dunno tho cuz i can never get past 15min of his mixes in the first place.
whats wrong with a crowd-pleaser? well in a sentence it DESTROYS TRANCE. a crowd pleaser belongs on MTV, and now that we have crowd pleasers djing at big name clubs the damn MTV groupie generation is coming to clubs b/c it is the next big thing and ruining it. I first really got shocked by this when I went to see oakenfold last year. I could barely move cuz of all the stupid little kids dancing like idiots, then all the kids started scraming "OAKENFOLD OAKENFOLD!" and waving their hands and calling him "god"... i looked up, and it was one of the guys from orbital!!!
so what do crowd-pleasers do? they destroy the goddamn community. they play , make popular, bring in big crowds who arent there for the music, make everything commercial and well destroy it. |

| just to clear something up. I didn't go to see oakenfold. i'm not that dumb :D ! I actually went to see cox, orbital, and oakenfold was part of it. I should add that cox ripped it up and orbital's guitarist seemed on a odd mixture of drugs and looked like he was about to fall over.. |

Alright let me get this straight. TA's forum topics have basically been going round in circles. We already know that many of the members on this board hate JJ, there is no need to post the same topic again. Me being a regular to this site has actually gotten the idea that many people out there just want to make clear blah blah DJ sux and raise a stupid argument that has been argued again and again. Im sure there are people on this forum that do like Jules more than you think but flamming 1000 times per day isn't gonna change the way he acts. the most i think is if a jules hater kills him...
Im not trying to raise some sort of war here but the fact that people refer to Jules Qontact sets are not enough proof. Im sorry but that was only 90 minutes of his life. Im sure through some of the opinions round here that he will never perform a set like that unless he goes to some other country and tries to surprise them with his magic or something. I haven't seen Jules live so I haven't much to say but the whole situation.
As for flamming djs, we've all heard blah blah dj sucks i hope he trips over and dies before theres no need to keep expressing it. just keep opinions to yourself before repition comes into play. |

| BLIMEY!...why do ppl have to ruin good threads. If you don't want to read about someone bashing a dj then ignore it. Lots of ppl have opinions about judge jules and it is refreshing to hear what others think. |

| Yeah it's true Qontact is a great set but it's ONE SET. It's the only set I've heard anybody rave about. I saw him twice last year and he was both times. And his Qontact set just adds more of an insult, because he's clearly capable of chucking out a good performance if he really makes an effort. He should spend less time being a celebrity and more time being a DJ, and to be honest that goes for a lot of other UK DJ's too, I dunno what it is about our country that makes everybody forget about why they're where they are. Stupid ponces. |

as spad said thats ONE set... i seen jules countless times last year (not because i wanted to.. but cuz he was alongside good dj's) and i can really only recall one set being good, and that was GC red/black when he was.. simply stunning. it really s me off when i know he can play out of his skin and send a crowd totally ape-.. but fact is he doesnt try. he doesnt even enjoy it anymore... u can tell bvy the look on his face when he plays.

he doesnt please crowds..

really? so why the time before last my mate went out when jules was playing, he said after half an hour hardly anyone was dancing... :)
and spad.. theres only one or 2 UK dj's that are like u say.. the ones who do all the work getting the undergreound above ground have never been close to celebrities.. for example, u and i both know scott bond is easily better than tiesto.. but he has only just been heard of anywhere else but in the UK! hes been playin crasha every other week (nearly) for 7 years ffs... |

Let me first start off by saying, I not a fan of Judge Jules, however saying he is a crap Dj is not entirely accurate. He just never really figured out how to read or play to a crowd, mainly because his success came to him to quickly.
Let me tell you from experience this last year in clubland was really boring, It was a land where people belived PROG ruled, and PROG was cool, no one wanted to admit how boring nights out really became. Major League clubs had to pull a 180 with there music policy.
So in this past year I was more than happy to occasionally go to a JJ set after a long week at work, rather than go be bored to death by someone who played INTELLIGENT MUSIC all night long.
I would also like to point out that alot of people in thread are flamming Jules for mixing Trance and House together. So does that mean you all dislike Marco V as well, or maybe Picotto . |
