Recently I discovered this guy's music, and I must say this the best selection of Detroit Techno I've heard in over a year. And I am a gigantic detroit techno fan, I cant believe I found out about him so late. His Future History album is simply MAGNIFICENT!!!!!!

Comments/Opinions? :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:

however, can a dutch producer/dj be classified as detroit..? :wtf: his sound is close enough, but geographically it doesn't make sense, heh

No. Techno was born in Detroit, in early 1980s. The legendary Belleville 3: Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson gave the birth to techno. Fact: Juan Atkins himself COINED the word techno. Europe picked up on it and by 1990 promiment techno artists sprung up in Europe. Orbital, 808 State, LFO, Laurent Garnier and others - were all inspired by the first detroit techno wave. Detroit Techno gave the birth to the electronic music as it is today.

You should really get into it, and you'll see what I mean.

My favourite is Future Technology track, but everything that I've heard of Joris so far is awesome. The reason I classify his style as detroit techno is that if you know detroit techno, then you'll know even though he's european, the music is detroit techno. Very classic detroit techno sound!!!

For all you techno "noobs": check out these learning sources for discovering the birth of techno, in detroit (read the biographies):

Hehe ...
Then I suggest Jay Denham (deeeeeeeeeetroit).

NO! Hopefully he makes more soulful classic detroit music. There's plenty of European techno out there that you would like ;)
