Find a field to take a piss in. Cant find one? Hold it in....

Who cares really if they are watching you through CCTV? If you got nothing to hide then no need to worry. I am willing to give up my privacy (in public space) if it means a reduction in violence. These idiots who think they can just pull out guns anywhere must be brought to justice.

i don't litter, loiter, or pee in alleyways, so i would have no problem with it. i don't know if it's necessarily going to fix anything though. but it might help. and frankly, i don't feel like getting shot, thanks.

But what if you do get caught having a leak and they use the footage against you?

I will postulate that EVERYONE eventually breaks the law in some form. Whether it's speeding or peeing in the ally. Do you really want big brother watching your EVERY move?

I dont.

everyone eventually breaks the law?? umm, no they don't...an incredibly low percentage of the downtown population breaks even the tamest of laws...giving you the the right to piss in an alley worry free of being carted off to prison is more important than finding a solution to lowering violent crimes in our city?? were you drunk when you came up with this angle or are you just really stretching here in hopes of fanning the flames of this thread? ;)

This wont solve anything imo. These criminals will take their business elsewhere.AS jay already said we need to solve this problems by its roots aka make the black community to get more involved and go after the thugs and face the fact that this is mainly happening in the balck community.

I would say that the majority of all humans have broken one law or another....J-walking or say spittying or littering....just because no one enforces many laws doesn't mean they haven't been broken. I gotta agree with Jay here....eventually we all break a law.

well his argument is that "big brother" is going to nail you for pissing in an alley, or j-walking, or littering because of these cameras....do you really think with the amount of people on city streets and the shortage of cops that they're going to have the resources for this or even care...it's a lame argument imo...

serious crime fell 30% the first year england started their city camera program...that's an amazing stat...i'm yet to hear the stats on arrests for j-walking, littering or public urination...

No, and ESPECIALLY NOT GATSOS.

ditto.

I'd like to see evidence (rather than "I heard of people...") of people being actively pursued and prosecuted for pissing in an alley or littering.

I still don't think cameras everywhere is the answer though...in certain areas, like the club district, sure...go ahead. But peppering the whole downtown core with them is overkill, IMHO.

I also think we ought to be able to walk around in public space without being filmed 24/7...unnecessary.

solve the gun/gang problem...but don't film ALL OF US just to do so.
